I don't care about Ashley Biden
Nor do I care that she did cocaine. Nor do I care that Michael Phelps took hits from a marijuana bong. I don't care that someone's kid did something that we feel is irresponsible and illegal. I don't care that Sarah Palin's daughter and the father of her child aren't getting married. It's none of my business. And it's none of yours either.
Parent's can work hard, or not so hard, on trying to send their kids down a path that keeps them out of the headlines - but often it doesn't matter. And in every case mentioned above it doesn't mean that the individuals involved are somehow satanic. Mistakes were made, life goes on, maybe they'll learn from the transgressions, maybe not. I'd like to think I've learned from my less than perfect early years.
Leave Ashley Biden alone and leave Sarah Palin's family alone and keep stories like these out of the mainstream of media. We should all boycott this type of "news" and maybe it will go away.

From Obama's gift of a 25 DVD set of videos to Gordon Brown (encoded in a way that can't be viewed on players made in Britain) as a momento - Brown's to Obama was an ornate carved wooden ship with historical documents attached, to Obama's constantly rescheduling and coming late to meetings with foreign dignataries, to Hilary's incorrectly translated "reset" button given to the Soviets and many other cultural gaffes - we find that experience does make a difference.
The support people who have been hired may have been vetted well about their extreme left wing beliefs but not in actual knowledge - about anything. Here's a doozie.

More trampling of the Constitution
This is what is says in the First Amendment.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances"
In Cape Coral, Florida the right to assemble has been trampled. A planned taxpayer revolt, one of now hundreds that have occurred around the country in protest of Obama and the Democrat Congress' massive increase in government, can only be carried out if a permit and insurance is acquired in advance. What other bureaucratic requirements will be generated by governments big and small to forestall honest American protesting and take the basic right of assemblage away?
Inform me of one, just one, assemblage against the Bush administration that was just so aborted by local government. Crickets.
It's unfortunate that the major networks and papers aren't following this grass roots groundswell that questions big government. But since the newspapers are waiting for their own bailout legislation to pass they'll dutifully look the other way.
Stay tuned. I smell a new piece of legislation cleverly crafted to take away another constitutional right.

Brown shirting America's youth
Passed without a hint of "transparency" the $5.7billion going to expand Americorps will effectively create a handy little Army of youth walking in lock step to the whims of the Obama administration. Check out the "mandatory" nature of this new law.
To begin with, the legislation threatens the voluntary nature of Americorps by calling for consideration of “a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people.” It anticipates the possibility of requiring “all individuals in the United States” to perform such service – including elementary school students. The bill also summons up unsettling memories of World War II-era paramilitary groups by saying the new program should “combine the best practices of civilian service with the best aspects of military service,” while establishing “campuses” that serve as “operational headquarters,” complete with “superintendents” and “uniforms” for all participants.

Of course it will work
When you flood the economy with Monopoly money how can you not come out of recession? How can mortgage rates NOT go back to 1950's levels? How can Americans NOT be inclined to spend like drunken sailors again? But we will pay later (and not that later, mind you) with massive inflation and a country that is owned by China.
Obama has been given the keys to our car for his first prom date, but in impressing the date with how fast the car can go he has headed straight for that giant oak tree on dead man's curve.
Buckle up folks, this is gonna hurt.

The Clown Parade Marches On
Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi are angry. Barack Obama is "outraged". Chris Dodd is a liar - twice. Everyone knew about the bonuses as early as March 3rd. Outrage arrived March 17th. No one read the bill that clearly states bonuses are allowed. And according to Chris Dodd, Obama admin people made him write in the clause that allowed it!
So, caught red handed the suddenly outraged Democrat leaders want blood. And damn it they'll ignore the constitution to get it. By taxing a unique class of people they are breaking at least two United States Constitutional laws. And they know it. It will not pass.
But the outrage PR they get out of threatening it will keep a few more votes back home in the district from sliding into the Republican column next time. God, how some politicians are the slimiest of people.
This whole new one party "Good Ship Lollipop" with Admiral Hopey at the helm is taking on water fast. Can you bailout a presidential administration?

It's a revolution in the making
I think people are paying more attention to what's going in Washington than the national news is letting on. At least the locals are covering it.
Tonight the ABC Evening news did not cover anything about the protests. But we did get a story about Michelle Obama's plans to have a vegetable garden at the White House and a 2 minute piece on how the President picked his teams for the NCAA basketball tournament.

GIBBS: Well, again, Jake, there's -- according to news reports, there's existing contracts, some of which the President -- of which the President has asked the Secretary to examine, going forward. I think you also heard the President speak today about having a resolution authority that gives the government and taxpayers far more flexibility in dealing with the disposition of AIG in a way that gives taxpayers protection and flexibility; a disposition that we don't currently have, but steps that we would like to see taken in order to deal with AIG as a whole.
Q But why didn't you attach it to the $30 billion you gave a couple weeks ago?
MR. GIBBS: Again, Jake, the --
Q You're looking to retroactively attach it to this new $30 billion.
MR. GIBBS: Well, they're looking through contracts to see what can be done to wrest these bonuses from their recipients.
Q No, I'm sorry, I don't think -- I don't understand, so maybe I'm just not understanding. But President Obama said in early February when he gave the speech on executive compensation, "These kinds of compensation packages in the midst of this economic crisis isn't just bad taste, it's bad strategy, and I will not tolerate it as President. We're going to be demanding some restraint in exchange for federal aid." Since that time, he gave tens of billions of dollars in federal aid to AIG without demanding restraint.
MR. GIBBS: Well, again, Jake, we've got existing relationships, contracts, as I just mentioned, that were negotiated a year ago, assistance that was granted outside of the legal authority prior to the creation of the Troubled Asset Relief Program. The President has asked the administration to go back and look at what remedies are possible to block those bonuses.
Q Well, why didn't he do that before?
MR. GIBBS: Well, again, the excessive compensation rules that you noted -- and I think somebody asked this at the background briefing that we had -- obviously are prospective based on some limitations that we have in looking backwards. The President has asked Secretary Geithner and members of the administration to exhaust all legal remedies in looking backwards to see what steps could be taken to block these bonuses.
Q I know, but since -- and I'm sorry to belabor this point -- but since President Obama gave his speech, you guys gave more money to AIG. Why wasn't it attached to the new money?

Chris Dodd, Senator from Connecticut, is currently under fire for a number of spurious actions:
A sweetheart deal on two mortgages from now defunct Countrywide Financial, an organization with which he was charged oversight as a member of the Senate Finance Committee.
His ownership of an Irish cottage (looks more like an Irish mansion) may have been leveraged by his relationship with CF.
However those investigations aren't today's dilemma - turns out Chris is responsible for writing the part of the TARP bailout plan that allowed the now famous 165 million in bonuses to greedy AIG managers.
Chris must think a magician got hold of the bill since he wrote the section on compensation bonuses.
"When I wrote the language there was no such language like that," Dodd told CNN Tuesday.
What other magic tricks can we expect in the language of the Stimulus plan?

Nevermind
Hurricane activity is reported today to be at it's lowest point in thirty years. Remember when Al Gore said hurricanes would increase in frequency and intensity because of man-made global warming?
"Under global warming scenarios, hurricane intensity is expected to increase (on the order of a few percent), but MANY questions remain as to how much, where, and when. This science is very far from settled. Indeed, Al Gore has dropped the related slide in his PowerPoint."
Al probably dropped the slide from his powerpoint that put Florida underwater by year 2100 too.
And those crazy kids at the University of Wisconsin didn't get the memo either. There goes your Stimulus money kids.

It's tough to get behind a guy who has been right about virtually nothing. Today's example via the ABC News/BBC/NHK poll of Iraqis.
See the low point for the three lines? That's when Obama said the surge wouldn't work. Hope, particularly hoping against things, isn't a solution to anything. Change, for the sake of change, as in trying to put us in to debt to end a recession that will end itself in 6 to 9 months as a natural course - they always have, is also bad presidenting.

Jon Stewart is a coward
Jon Stewart is being hailed as a hero by the Main Stream media for sucker punching CNBC's Jim Cramer. He's not a hero, he's a coward.
Jon Stewart is a comedian whose comic genius lies in having a dozen writers find out of context clips of politicians (nearly all Republicans) allowing him to make a childish face afterwards to remind the viewers that what they just saw was funny (in case they didn't know). He does fawning interviews with Pro-Obama or Anti-Bush spin doctors and gotcha interviews with anybody on the other side. It is funny if you just can't get enough of - Bush is/was an idiot, mockery. I laugh sometimes. Mostly though, it's tiresome and getting more tiresome each night.
Because ratings are falling, Stewart's latest scheme is to blame CNBC, and primarily Cramer, for the demise of the stock market. Stewart's own portfolio has probably taken a beating - you can hear it in his voice. But he won't say so. That might suggest he was as financially stupid and greedy as many of us were.
Stewart wants to come off as a hero here. How can you not? Big banks, Wall Street, and our own government oversight failed us - let me blame them publicly by picking on a finance entertainer.. booo...hisss. It is of course, cowardly.
Where are the tough interviews? Where are Alan Greenspan, Ben Bernanke, Franklin Raines, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd? Where's Maxine Waters? Where's the Democratic leadership of the House of Representatives and Senate who have controlled those bodies into their 3rd year? The recession started in December 2007! The Democrats controlled Congress and have chaired the Banking Committees, Finance Committes, Ways and Means, and have had majorities in all the finance oversight committees since the election of 2006!! Oh wait - they're all Democrats.
Envision me doing a snarky little frozen face with my index finger to my pursed lips saying " Oh that's right Jon - you don't do Democrats.."
Cowardly Jon Stewart. Always laying blame on the easy targets and letting the real crooks pass.
By the way Jon, if you really watched CNBC you'd find that for every bull marktet analyst - they bring on a bear market analyst. There has been plenty of doomsaying by their analysts over the years and while they can't reach out with a mallet and hit greedy idiots like you over the head every time they suggest wariness, they are indeed there. It's your choice not to pay attention.

So the UN Secretary General says the US is a "deadbeat nation" . This is the same UN that supported 17 resolutions against Saddam's weapons of mass destruction and pulled an ostrich when it came time to provide support against the tyrant.
Jules Crittenden is tired (and has been tired) of the UN and it's worthlessness.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon calls the UN’s largest donor nation a “deadbeat.” 192 member nations, and one nation … ours … pays just under one-quarter of the $5.5 billion tab. Just not fast enough.
I spent the last 10 minutes or so trying to come up with something clever to say about that, but I’ve got nothing.
White House Press Secretary Gibbs calls the choice of words “unfortunate.” Moon, apparently aware that this was a stupid thing to say, issues a statement saying the U.S. “generously supports the work of the U.N., both in assessed and voluntary contributions” and he has “an excellent working relationship with the United States and appreciates the many ways that it supports the United Nations.”
It’s unfortunate all right. OK, I’ve got something. Let’s make it unfortunate for Moon. Maybe he’ll better appreciate the many ways our tax dollars and future debt support his America-bashing, dictator-supporting, faux science-touting, child rape-enabling organization after he has to lay off a few do-nothing employees. Or a lot.

Is there a lemon law for presidents?
So if you make all of these campaign promises and then when you're voted in as President you go 180 on many of them - can the voters send the candidate they voted for back?

“I recognize that Congress has the power of the purse,” he said in brief remarks in the Old Executive Office Building that were unmistakably aimed down Pennsylvania Avenue. “As a former senator, I believe that individual members of Congress understand their districts best. And they should have the ability to respond to the needs of their communities.”
At times, he sounded more like a defender of the old ways than a critic.
“Done right, earmarks have given legislators the opportunity to direct federal money to worthy projects that benefit people in their districts, and that's why I've opposed their outright elimination,” Obama said. “There are times where earmarks may be good on their own, but in the context of a tight budget might not be our highest priority.”
Mr Obama has promised bipartisanship, transparency in government, vetting all bills with the American people for 5 days before signing, no lobbyists in his government,
troops out in 16 months, immediate closing of Gitmo, and no wasteful pork projects in any legislation that he signs...among other promises. All unfulfilled.
If Mr. Obama were a used car salesman you could literally return the car sold to you in many states because of the vast misrepresentations.
But with Presidents you can't do that.
Oh yeah, that makes sense.

I take the President's view on Global Warming
The President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Klaus, that is:
MR. KLAUS: I'm afraid that a serious debate about that issue has not yet started. What we witnessed are monologues, a conference of believers in global warming. The debate has not yet started. Nevertheless, I'm afraid the politicians have already accepted this idea, understood that it's a good political project, and now the things are moving in a way which I consider extremely dangerous. And I know that not only politicians, the businesspeople discovered that it's very attractive investments to get taxpayers' money and to start doing some things. So this is another problem.
But I would like to make one thing clear, let's really differentiate the protection of the environment from the debate about global warming and decarbonizing the economy. I am not against the protection of the environment. I am against global-warming alarmism. Those are conceptually, structurally, two totally different issues.
President Klaus has very distinct opinions about free markets vs government bailouts as well are you listening President Obama?

Reads Well - A+
The teleprompter issue with Obama is quite embarassing apparently. He simply can't get his thoughts out extemporaneously. From Politico.com:
“It’s just something presidents haven’t done,” said Martha Joynt Kumar, a presidential historian who has held court in the White House since December 1975. “It’s jarring to the eye. In a way, it stands in the middle between the audience and the president because his eye is on the teleprompter.”
Just how much of a crutch the teleprompter has become for Obama was on sharp display during his latest commerce secretary announcement. The president spoke from a teleprompter in the ornate Indian Treaty Room for a few minutes. Then Gov. Gary Locke stepped to the podium and pulled out a piece of paper for reference.
The president’s teleprompter also elicited some uncomfortable laughter after he announced Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as his choice for Health and Human Services secretary. “Kathy,” Obama said, turning the podium over to Sebelius, who waited at the microphone for an awkward few seconds while the teleprompters were lowered to the floor and the television cameras rolled.

President Bush we know wasn't so good with the teleprompters. But he was an honest man who had no problem getting his heartfelt points across without a teleprompter.
I hear they're developing battery powered teleprompters so they can be put up quickly at disaster sites.

What he meant by NO pork projects was actually 9264 pork projects
Ah the audacity of lies.
The recent 2009 budget signed by President Barack Obama contains 9264 pork projects from legislators on both sides of the aisle. He promised "no piece of legislation signed by me as President will have any pork projects in it"
Let's see Zero or 9264....Zero or 9264.... Well he's only been President for 6 weeks, give him a break.

Obama putting on the gloves. This is precious.
President Obama in his weekly radio address re Reuters:
"These steps won't sit well with the special interests and lobbyists who are invested in the old way of doing business," the president said in his weekly radio address.
"I know they're gearing up for a fight as we speak," he said. "My message to them is this: So am I."
Someone, anyone tell me about a lobbyist who is stepping up to fight this week. Obama and the democrats have passed a trillion dollar plus Spendulus bill that is not going to stimulate the economy, but rather put us in debt for decades to come. It is loaded with hundreds of billions of dollars that will be spent by lobbyists and their clients. They definitely will keep their mouths shut except during the periods when they open their mouths to laugh all the way to the bank.
The only fight Obama needs to get ready for will be the one from the people who realize that they just got rope-a-doped by the Prez. And that would be taxpayers. Some now - and the rest real soon.
