When the AP notices that the emperor has no clothes the BS bus has hit a real speed bump

Obama threw around a bit more hope and alot more BS in this latest speech. Campaigning is over President Obama it's time to govern. Everyone knows this bill is a democrat's 8 year wish list come true and literally hundreds of pet projects were rammed through with no debate.

All under the guise of "rebuilding America". Unfortunately it will end up being our kids and grandkids who will have to do the rebuilding while their standard of living plummets in the years to come.

The Battered American

There's a reason why there are revolts and protests all across this country lately. The middle class the "great overlooked segment" of our culture (according to Obama) has had it up to here on the new plans from our hope and change president. Victor Davis Hansen speaks for a not so silent majority of folks who've been playing by the rules.

Change. Or is that just the jingling in your pocket Part 12

Obama promised no lobbyists in his administration. He' s only broken that promise 17 times so far. He promised transparency (Republicans were shut out of the Spendulus bill conference hearing). And he promised at least 5 days for the public to read any piece of legislation that would come across his desk. Try to find the bill before Tuesday (which of course would only be 3 days - all a part of a 3 day weekend).

This is a massive spending bill that will create few meaningful jobs, but will get alot of Democrats re-elected on the backs of the next generation's taxpayers. It is shameful, fascist politics carried out in the face of fearmongering.

I worried that Obama might be just another promise-breaking politician with an Evangelist's skillset. Unfortunately I was far more correct in my assumptions than I wish I was.

Welcome to Obamerica.

I bet he actually hugs the teleprompters

John McCain and President Bush were often berated for their inabilitiy to comfortably read teleprompters. They usually sounded stiff, unrhythmic and disinterested. Clearly they didn't practice enough.

But Obama - whoa can that man read a teleprompter! On his campaign swing through Elkhart, Indiana it was vintage, on-the-stump Obama whipping his head back and forth in perfect rhythm telling the great unwashed of that job depressed town that he would bring them back to life and he'd blacktop I31 and fix the bridges down on South street if that's what it took to get more people to work. Nothing reads on a teleprompter like chicken-in-every pot rhetoric. The man's a glib genius.

And in last night's press conference, the staged portion, that is the telepromptered portion, Obama was on message. Head turning, subtle eyebrow raises, tiny smirks and solid fear mongering rhetoric poured out like honey on the assembled adoring press. The message - I inherited a deficit that George Bush doubled in his eight year stint and my plan to fix it is to double it again in my first 3 weeks in office.

But then they had to turn the teleprompters off. Clearly, Obama must have felt like Cap't Sully when the engines went dead. The feeling in the pit of his stomach had to be similar. A panic set in, you could see it in his eyes, and not only did he not make a safe water landing but the good ship Obama crashed hard and didn't come to a stop until the reporter from the Washing ton Post changed things up with a question about baseball and steroids.

Obama's answers were rambling, unsteady and mostly empty of content. It really did seem like a robot whose wires got short circuited and he was spinning around delivering truncated phrases from Jonny Favreau's talking points memos.

The one thing about telling the truth all the time is you never have to remember what you said.

Didn't matter though. The Democrats-only government will respond with a flow of fake money into the economy like we've never seen and they will save us from a "catastrophe". Of course, nothing works like fear and as Rahm Emmanuel says "never let a good crisis go to waste".

Obama says you have no right to question what's in the Spendulus bill

Because...

(via APs Charles Babington)

Obama warned Republicans not to "come to the table with the same tired arguments and worn ideas that helped to create this crisis." Americans, he said, "did not vote for the false theories of the past, and they didn't vote for phony arguments and petty politics."

So there you go folks...you clearly just don't get it. You're idiots and Obama and the Democrats are not!

Now shut up and let's let a guy who's never run anything bigger than a lemonade stand spend 800 billion dollars without questioning him.

Obama promised 6 weeks ago that the Spendulus bill will have a:

"new higher standard of accountability, transparency and oversight. We are going to ban all earmarks, the process by which individual members insert projects without review."

Pay attention to what's in this bill. You won't believe it.

New, New Deal same as the Old, New Deal (only worse!)

The Obama stimulus plan, now soon to be bolstered not just by the $825 billion he wants, but by the control of the 2nd half ($375 billion) of the TARP bailout money, will be so rife with good ol' boy pork projects that it will put at the absolute minimum 600,000 people to work in the federal government. Making, as I've pointed out here before, NOTHING that can be sold/exported. It is a recipe for fiscal disaster and long term diminution of the American brand.

By 1939 Roosevelt's own Treasury secretary, Henry Morgenthau, had realized that the New Deal economic policies had failed. "We have tried spending money," Morgenthau wrote in his diary. "We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. . . . After eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started. . . . And an enormous debt to boot!"

Those who fail to learn from the mistakes of their predecessors are destined to repeat them.

I don't think we realize what's going to happen with a Democrat President, Democrat Senate, Democrat House of Representatives, and Democrat majority of Governors. 1.2 Trillion dollars to be spent by like minded big government politicians with no controls, no oversight. When these folks get together in a room to divvy this money up they'll be lighting cigars with million dollar checks and the corruption is simply going to go out of sight.

This is very, very scary and makes me terrified for the future of my children and their future children. One party rule and taxpayer money - a sure recipe for disaster.

Gas prices lower than when President Bush took office.

To the average driver the cost savings is around $50 a week from July's high. Obama's massive tax cut will bring the average worker about $9 a week - and of course it will be offset by increasing the national debt. Lower gas prices put more money in the pocket of average Americans without costing us anything.

The gas price windfall is literally going to mean $1 billion dollars a day. Consumers are actually hanging on to that money because they fear the prediction by Obama that "things are going to get worse". Next year this money sitting on the sidelines will begin to leak back into the economy.

By the way, have you seen many television reports of happy consumers at the gas pumps talking about their joy with lower prices? Neither have I, but I saw plenty of negative stories when the prices were going up - and of course President Bush was blamed for it all.

Seems fair to me.

Change. It's here in the visage of Leon Panetta

Real change, as promised by Barack Obama. It takes a real change agent to select a man with no experience in the field of intelligence for CIA director - CIA DIRECTOR! Panetta was first a congressman and then chief of staff for Bill Clinton. Mr. Panetta was Monica Lewinsky's mentor at the White House. He testified before a grand jury that he knew nothing of their 8 month affair. Now those are the kinds of powers of observation you want the head of our most important intelligence agency to have. What Iran nukes?

Panetta was the first Democrat to tell Clinton to come clean. In my book he gets points for that. But not CIA DIRECTOR points.

Diane Feinstein, incoming Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee is none too pleased about this. She'll be getting a phone call tonight and things will be just swell by tomorrow.

California pork, coming right up!

Update: I hate to be an I told you so kinda guy but....

We'll be loved around the world! Oops.

Turns out the planet's largest Muslim population is located in Indonesia and when it comes to protesting against America re the Palestinian conflict they don't love us and Barack all that much. Given that Putin and Sarkozy have maligned ol' BHO already the international support and love we were promised is shall we say not a faite accompli.

Change. Or is that just the jingling in your pocket Part 9?

Obama was going to bring change to Washington. Good judgement to overcome the "failed policies of the past". But Obama is no change agent as we've all come to find out. He is a back room politician just like all the others. Politicians pay back the people who brought in the votes for them no matter how unsavory they may be. Bill Richardson, who was to be Obama's Commerce Secretary has resigned in a shroud of scandal over accusations and upcoming investigations of his questionable business dealings while Governor of New Mexico. The Messiah's halo has been heavily tarnished by a number of incidents that have brought his "good judgement" into question even before he beds down in the White House for the first time.

2008 Not so good for Anthropogenic Global Warming Alarmists

Christopher Booker of the Telegraph thinks AGW is a big lie. He's right of course.

First, all over the world, temperatures have been dropping in a way wholly unpredicted by all those computer models which have been used as the main drivers of the scare. Last winter, as temperatures plummeted, many parts of the world had snowfalls on a scale not seen for decades. This winter, with the whole of Canada and half the US under snow, looks likely to be even worse. After several years flatlining, global temperatures have dropped sharply enough to cancel out much of their net rise in the 20th century.

My fear is that Obama's appointment of John Holdren as his "science advisor" bodes a full steam ahead Global Warming fear fest even as many climate science heavyweights are jumping off the bandwagon. Holdren is the one who helped the Danish Government nearly imprison Bjorn Lomborg, author of the Skeptical Environmentalist when he dared to defy the whole AGW gestapo.(via Powerlineblog.com) When the government is behind a scientific fearmaking steamroller like AGW, watch out. Research money skyrockets and facts get molded to fit the meme.

Spinning POTUS fitness.

Michelle Malkin gets it right again with a piece on the fawning over BHO's fitness results. In the piece she quotes the Washington Post's front page man love from Eli Zaslow:

Sighed smitten reporter Eli Zaslow: “The sun glinted off chiseled pectorals sculpted during four weightlifting sessions each week, and a body toned by regular treadmill runs and basketball games.” Drool cup to the newsroom, stat.

She goes on to point out that the LA Times printed an op ed piece from WaPo reporter Jonathan Chait who equated GW Bush's fitness regimen with creepiness:

Recounting how President Bush ran 3 1/2 miles a day and preached more cross-training to a federal judge, Chait fumed: “Am I the only person who finds this disturbing?…What I mean is the fact that Bush has an obsession with exercise that borders on the creepy.”

As Michelle points out -

Fit Republican president = Selfish, indulgent, creepy fascist.
Fit Democratic president = Disciplined, health-conscious Adonis role model.

Read the whole thing, it foreshadows how the POTUS and POTUS elect have and will be comparatively referenced in all areas in the Main Stream media.

Seems fair to me.

Rahm, Rahm, Rahm, Rahm, Rahm he ran

Obama's sidekick Rahm Emmanuel knew something about Blago and the pay for play scheme. But he ain't talking. He's got a family you know...

Blago, Rangel, Dodd and now Richardson

Democrats. Liberals. The heroes of American politics. Not.

Oh how the dam of suppressed stories has burst forth from the Main Stream media now that the election is over and the One got sent over the top to victory.

Obama's Secretary of Commerce nominee, Bill Richardson apparently has a boatload of tainted campaign contributions from a Wall Street advising concern. There's a little investigating going on.

Change. Or is that just the jingling in your pocket Part 8

Obama, after promising during his campaign (to deafening cheers) that he would impart severe windfall profits taxes on George "failed policies of the past" Bush's buddies - the oil companies, says...oh, nevermind.

Is this guy ever going to keep a campaign promise? It truly is at the laughable stage now. And of course the media isn't holding his feet to the fire on any of this. Maybe this has something to do with it.

Were I a Barack Obama supporter I would feel duped...again.

The Populist candidate and his small donor myth

Not even scratching the surface regarding the donor fraud suspicions, an independent organization has determined that Barack Obama received exactly 1 percent more in small donor donations than George "failed policies of the past" Bush did in 2004. The popular media meme was that Obama - the people's candidate - received over half his money from small donors. More lies folks, from our horrificly in-the-bag for the democrats Main Stream media. As all this information comes in after the election you wonder if the duped Obama voters get it. Ah what's the difference, their main source for news, the MSM, certainly won't being sharing it. And HuffPo and MoveOn ain't bringin' the noise about it either.

Change. Or is that just the jingling in your pocket Part 4

President-elect Barack Obama may consider delaying a campaign promise - to roll back tax cuts on high-income Americans - as part of his economic recovery strategy, two aides said on Sunday.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20081123/pl_nm/us_usa_obama_taxes

If I had voted for Obama based on the promises he made I'd begin to think I was duped by a classic chicken-in-every-pot politician. I'd begin to wonder if he got his name "The One" based on the number of campaign promises he will actually keep.

So you don't think the media had a powerful effect on this election

The video found at this web site and the accompanying Zogby poll data of over 500 Obama supporters is jaw dropping. I'm actually depressed over this.

Considering the power that the media has in this country we should all be concerned. Very concerned.
