Check out Ryan's Medicare Plan Video

Rep Paul Ryan head of the House Budget Committee is privy to the very paltry numbers on which our government is currently propped. Entitlements are killing us and they simply need reform. Dems and a few Repubs have voted down his plan to correct the Medicare problem. They're very proud and sure that this is the method that will win them back the House. And it might, because the media will support their scare tactics that will have seniors believing that Medicare and Social Security will disappear in this plan.

Truth is, we are on the road to ruin and will have a collapse of our economy and governement underpinnings on a par with Greece, Italy, Portugal, Iceland and several other European countries that have unsustainable socialist programs that rival Medicare and Social Security.

Kicking the can down the road (to borrow a well worn phrase) without any attempt to fix the problems of the deficit and entitlements is what Obama and the Dems want to do. The only person with courage enough to even suggest that changes need to be made in Medicare is Ryan. His you tube video is worth spending under 5 minutes on.

JL's weekly - Imagine if Bush had Said/Done This Moment

Obama so badly screwed up a scheduled toast to the Queen in his trip to England that everyone present shuddered with embarassment. Apparently Obama was so proud that he memorized the last 3 words of his index card notes that he placed them down, triggering the orchestra. The toast was finished with the orchestra playing loudly, Obama put down his drink and no one actually drank the toast.

This kind of moment if generated by the previous president would lead all the network news shows and be fodder for MSNBC, the Daily Show and all the other left leaning media (that is to say 95% of the media) for weeks.

Obama does not take kindly to criticism as we've discovered. I'm beginning to think the Obama ineptitude coverup is beyond just liberal bias, I think it extends to self preservation. Check out what happens when you criticize the King.

JL's Weekly - The Headline You Won't See in the MSM Is...

The Expected Jump in the Readjusted First Quarter GDP to 2.2% from 1.8% Didn't Actually Happen.

The rate stayed at 1.8% but NPR touted that we would see a jump to 2.2% in it's top stories this morning. That is until the actual report came out.

Real gross domestic product -- the output of goods and services produced by labor and property
located in the United States -- increased at an annual rate of 1.8 percent in the first quarter of 2011, (that is, from the fourth quarter to the first quarter), according to the "second" estimate released by the Bureau
of Economic Analysis. In the fourth quarter, real GDP increased 3.1 percent.

The GDP estimates released today are based on more complete source data than were available for the "advance" estimate issued last month. In the advance estimate, the increase in real GDP was also 1.8 percent

We are deep into Obama's 3rd year of his presidency and the economy is stagnant. 17.3 million people are out of work yet the Main Stream Media is still trying to prop up this administration's horrible economic policies.

More great numbers you won't see.

Real imports of goods and services increased 7.5 percent, in
contrast to a decrease of 12.6 percent compared to the previous quarter.

Real federal government consumption expenditures and gross investment decreased 7.9 percent in the first quarter, compared with a decrease of 0.3 percent in the fourth.

Newt Bounces Back

Gingrich looked punch drunk after the Tea Party roughed him up when he criticized Paul Ryan's deficit reduction package.  His poll numbers were at 6% and pundits were counting him out as recently as the past weekend.  But...Newt saw the error of his ways, and came out with a resounding Tea Party flavored plan that pulls no fiscal punches.  It includes; eliminating the estate tax, eliminating the capital gains tax, and lowering the corporate tax to 12.5% among other conservative fiscal machinations.  This plan is real, and there will be no going back.  He spoke on CNBC.

I think this plan by Newt will reinvigorate his campaign and sends a message to the Tea Party ("I'm your guy") and to the other candidates ("State your plans clearly or risk looking indecisive.").

Newt has shaken things up.

The Iron Political Fist of Barack Obama

He's a hard nosed politician borne of Chicagoland politics where you "punish your enemies" and "reward those that stand beside you" - Obama's own words.   Why would it surprise us that he wants to know exactly where potential federal contractors spend their political dollars?  What better way to separate your friends from your enemies? Senator Mitch McConnell thinks Obama's latest threatened executive order is heinous.

“Now, under the guise of ‘transparency,’ the Obama administration reportedly wants to know the political leanings of any company or small business, including those of their officers and directors, before the government decides if they’ll award them federal contracts.”

Stalin would be proud.  Thomas Jefferson not so much.

Netanyahu's Speech to AIPAC was not a Love Poem to Obama

As the Main Stream Media reported it.  Yes, he took the high road and did not disparage Obama as he clearly could have for Obama's speech last week demanding a return to the 1967 borders which essentially would re-divide Jerusalem.  He basically said he thought Obama was a friend of Israel.  That had to be a bitter statement to spit out.

What he also said was, of course, not reported in the Main Stream Media.  It was a clear and cogent explanation of the Israel/Palistine issue.

It’s time to stop blaming Israel for all of the region’s problems.
Let me stress one thing.
Peace between Israelis and Palestinians is a vital need for us.
Peace would be the realization of a powerful and eternal dream.
But it is not a panacea for the endemic problems of the Middle East.
It will not give women in some Arab countries in the Middle East the right to drive a car.
It will not prevent Churches from being bombed.
It will not keep journalists out of jail.
What will change all this?  One word.
Democracy.  Real, genuine, democracy.
By democracy, I don’t just mean elections.
I mean Freedom of Speech.  Freedom of the Press.  Freedom of Assembly.
The Rule of Law.   Rights for women, for gays, for minorities, for everyone.
What the people of the Middle East need is what you have in America, and what we have in Israel.
Democracy.
It’s time to recognize this basic truth:
Israel is not what’s wrong about the Middle East.
Israel is what’s right about the Middle East.
My Friends,
Israel wants peace because we know the pain of terror and the agony of war.
We want peace because we know the blessings peace could bring to us and to our Palestinian neighbors.
But if we hope to advance peace with the Palestinians, then it is time that we admitted another truth.
This conflict has raged for nearly a century because the Palestinians refuse to end it.
They refuse to accept the Jewish state.
This is what this conflict has always been about.
There are many issues that must be resolved between Israelis and Palestinians.
We can and must resolve them.
But I repeat.  We can only make peace with the Palestinians if they are prepared to make peace with the Jewish state.

George Soros has Control of Your Brain

While a critic of biased journalism, I freely admit that Fox News is biased in a rightward fashion.  But facts are stubborn things.  The Fox website is in the middle of a 3 part expose of George Soros mega-billionaire- socialist and his financial iron grip on American media. For instance, Soros is the largest single funder of Columbia School of Journalism.

Soros funds more than just the most famous journalism school in the nation. There are journalism industry associations like:
• The National Federation of Community Broadcasters;
• The National Association of Hispanic Journalists;
• And the Committee to Protect Journalists.
Readers unhappy with Soros’ media influence might be tempted to voice concerns to the Organization of News Ombudsmen – a professional group devoted to “monitoring accuracy, fairness and balance.” Perhaps they might consider a direct complaint to one such as NPR’s Alicia Shepard or PBS’s Michael Getler, both directors of the organization. Unfortunately, that group is also funded by Soros. At the bottom of the Organization of News Ombudsmen’s website front page is the line: “Supported by the Open Society Institute,” a Soros foundation. It is the only organization so listed.

It's as if we're all unwitting protagonists in the movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers.  Everywhere you turn to report extreme journalism bias is run by people with extreme journalism bias.  The movie Serpico also comes to mind.

The Obama White House is far more Nixonian than Nixon's was

If you control the media you control the people. Socialist Saul Alinksy knew this and so does the Obama administration. It's not enough that research shows that 85% of "journalists" consider themselves liberal and the media treatment of Democrats and Obama proves it, but the heavy handed nature of media control by Obama is getting out of hand.

The White House Press Office has refused to give the Boston Herald full access to President Obama’s Boston fund-raiser today, in e-mails objecting to the newspaper’s front page placement of a Mitt Romney op-ed, saying pool reporters are chosen based on whether they cover the news “fairly.” “I tend to consider the degree to which papers have demonstrated to covering the White House regularly and fairly in determining local pool reporters,” White House spokesman Matt Lehrich wrote in response to a Herald request for full access to the presidential visit.
The young kids and white haired liberal fat cats who support this guy are getting jobbed and of course they neither see it, or if they do, they won't accept it. It's the worst kind of herd mentality. I'm embarrassed for Obama supporters and disgusted with the media.

It Pays to Support Pelosi

So the latest batch of waivers for ObamaCare included 38 businesses in Nancy Pelosi's district. You probably didn't catch that little fact in the New York Times, Boston Globe, Washington Post or the hundreds of other legacy media outlets. It's a bit of a sticky wicket that is simply not "fit to print".

So let's do the math of fairness...38 companies times 435 congressional districts means 16,530 companies should get waivers for ObamaCare! Then the Senators...I wonder what they're expecting?

It pays to be a FON - Friend of Nancy.

Not a Peep from the Liberal Press

Apparently it is more important for the press to report for weeks on President Obama's series of victory laps on the Osama Bin Laden death than it is to do actual reporting.

Union thugs have been accused of beatings and other harassment by some members of their rank and file for reporting illegal union schemes. Unions have always been for the people who run them and not for the workers who contribute giant union dues to prop them up.

The main stream media thinks there's nothing to see here - just move along.
