Not since ol Alec fell into that pit and had the sharpened stake go through his leg in the movie Edge (he was trying to kill Anthony Hopkins and steal his beautiful young wife) have I been happier to see him in pain.
Alec, who hates George Bush and all things Republican, has seen the light on taxes.
via Deceiver.com
“I’m telling you right now,” Mr. Baldwin declared, “if these tax breaks are not reinstated into the budget, film production in this town is going to collapse, and television is going to collapse and it’s all going to go to California.” Well, well. Apparently taxes do matter, at least when it comes to filming “30 Rock” in Manhattan.
Kind of a Timmy Geithner view of taxes..."taxes are good for you, but not for me."
When a Hollywood type opens their mouth and talks about anything other than Variety magazine they prove how lucky they are that they stumbled into a profession that requires no intellect.
Wasn't Alec supposed to move to France? Blustering liar. At least the typecasting was right on for 30 Rock.

You're right that he's hypocritical on this, and many other political stances, but you're going overboard in condemning his whole profession ("profession that requires no intellect") -- like any art, including writing a blog, intellect is required. For example, Ron Silver, who just passed away, showed a lot of intellect in both his acting (interpretation of others)and his debating liberal elitists on foreign policy.
Perhaps I was a bit harsh about the intellect of actors, but I think you'll rarely see an actor carrying a bowl of potato salad to a MENSA picnic.
It was sad to hear about Ron Silver. He was a class act who made a dramatic shift in his politics after 9/11.
