This is what is says in the First Amendment.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances"
In Cape Coral, Florida the right to assemble has been trampled. A planned taxpayer revolt, one of now hundreds that have occurred around the country in protest of Obama and the Democrat Congress' massive increase in government, can only be carried out if a permit and insurance is acquired in advance. What other bureaucratic requirements will be generated by governments big and small to forestall honest American protesting and take the basic right of assemblage away?
Inform me of one, just one, assemblage against the Bush administration that was just so aborted by local government. Crickets.
It's unfortunate that the major networks and papers aren't following this grass roots groundswell that questions big government. But since the newspapers are waiting for their own bailout legislation to pass they'll dutifully look the other way.
Stay tuned. I smell a new piece of legislation cleverly crafted to take away another constitutional right.

David Horowitz, the author of "One Party Classroom" is in Boston. He'll be speaking at Tufts tomorrow. You should interview him -- he can give you many examples of how he's threatened on liberal campuses all over the US.
