Obama makes a good choice for the Supreme Court

It's time that the high court had another woman and its first Hispanic. She is principled, comes from a working class background and will vote essentially the same as Souter. Nice pick, President Obama. Republicans, shut up on this one.

But wouldn't it have been better if he had nominated Giselle Bundschen? After all, she's actually got "super" in her title. And now that she's preggers wouldn't she have more empathy for the little guy?

Giselle would have trouble reading the legal documents, I believe. I don't think you'll see Giselle carrying a casserole to the next MENSA meeting if you get my drift.

I'd love to watch her carrying a casserole if you catch my drift.

If we could put Giselle aside -- which would be fun, if you catch my drift -- may we get back to your original point. You seem to be saying that Repubs should automatically accept this new Supreme Court nominee because it's good politics. But if GOP senators did that, wouldn't it be a collapse of political integrity?

If you'd like to see a nice pic of Tom Brady: http://images.google.com/images?q=giselle+bundchen&rls=com.microsoft:en-us&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=t4AdSvLzD4-uMqKQ-cgF&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=6&ct=title

Your concern for the comings and goings of Tomselle portends an interest in the glitterati that somehow seems incongruous to your intellectual nature.

Regarding Sotomayor; I think it's fair to say that there are probably many candidates that would be better than she, but this is not the fight the GOP needs right now. With the media swooning already they can't wait for conservatives to utter a singular negative word about her so they can turn this into an evil vs. good fest. Why not use this opportunity to sweep her into the judgeship with a rousing huzzah - it's already in the cards that she will get in. Why throw red meat to the HuffPo crowd?
