The BBC comes clean

The BBC has today admitted to a "massive bias to the left" for decades.  This is like pulling a card from the bottom of the house of cards that has propped up the elite leftist global journalism that includes the likes of New York Times, Washington Post, the Associated Press and on and on.

Add this to the Journolist names that are being revealed and we have blatant damning evidence of the far left media cabal that Jourtegrity Lost has been whining about for two years.

All those who have denied the existence of this massive bias now look like either fools or liars.

Come home journalists, come home.  Let your confessions set you free.

Obama has lost my respect.

At a ribbon cutting for a battery making plant Obama ridiculed the Republican Congressman from the district in which the plant exists in a way that can only show how clueless this man truly is.

Powerlineblog tells the story. Please read it all. What an embarrassment your president has become.

The first president to ridicule the Supreme Court in his state of the union message also, you may remember.

Update:
Just to sully the office a bit more Obama becomes the first sitting president to appear on a daytime talk show. I want my president to be working on problems not appearing on daytime talk shows and playing golf at a rate already 50 times more frequently than his predecessor who was excoriated for playing golf 8 times in his 8 years in office.

I Told You So. (Can't think of any other way to put it)

This blog started in November of 2008.

The impetus was some absolutely mind numbing lefty bias run rampant in the media that made me think something was up. Journalists almost appeared to be colluding to bring down the Republican candidates for President and Vice-President and to completely ignore the inexperience and ultra egotistical nature of the Democratic candidate for President. Not to mention how they somehow missed the absolute joke of a vice-presidential candidate and his blowhard, plagiarizing history. Cindy McCain was outed as a recovering alcoholic and Sarah Palin mocked as a no nothing female mannequin. Katie Couric, Tina Fey, Charles Gibson were the most visible vicious attack dogs against Palin but behind the scenes, and rampant in every op-ed story, and most shockingly in actual "news" stories - was a cadre of "journalists" doing the daily bidding of the Democratic National Committee.

It was then that I thought Jourtegrity (my little made up name) died. And I was oh so very right.

The Journolist bombshell exploded a few days ago with Tucker Carlson's the Daily Caller blog outting some Journolist emails - and more will be coming out frequently, I presume. From these emails we learn that liberal journalists colluded, every day, to create a consistent message of anti-Republican, anti-conservative "news". It was a complete and thorough annihilation of everything journalism is supposed to represent.

And remarkably, no one I know who isn't at least moderately conservative, has had a whiff of this shocking story in the main stream media or on lefty websites. No single story is being more covered up than this one.

Journolisters covering up Journolisters' asses.

Fred Barnes gives his take on just one angle that included him in the attack plan.

The Tax Man Cometh. Big Time

There are a dizzying array of taxes attached to ObamaCare and the newly passed Financial Reform Act (which reforms nothing but continues to support the concept of "too big to fail" for the banks that don't need the help). In addition, the Bush tax cuts, that gave a disproportionately beneficial break to lower income groups (despite the Journolisters efforts to tout otherwise) are set to expire at the end of this year.

The tax bite will hit the middle class the hardest with child care credits, tuition breaks and alternative minimum taxes providing the biggest hits. Hey someone's got to pay for the public employees who now enjoy a 2 to 1 ratio of better pay $74,000 to $38,000 over private employees.

Investor's Business Daily sums up the bad news.

Hey Biden and Obama THIS is a big *&#$^#ING Deal!

Over a month and the Obama administration continues to trust BP to do the right thing in stopping the oil leak. Pressing Cap and Trade, Immigration and covering up the leaks about the impending Health Care debacle is more important than stopping the greatest environmental disaster to hit this planet - right here in our very own Gulf of Mexico.

We have a Navy, a Coast Guard and the smartest scientists on the planet - yet we don't use our tremendous resources and ingenuity to stop a devastating oil leak.

Obama this isn't your Katrina, this is proof you are totally clueless and incapable of reacting to anything domestically and internationally.

Nice smart diplomacy on the North Korean murder of South Korean seamen, also.

How long can the media continue to cover this guy's behind?

Remember November

You know, I kind of like Obama as Dad, Husband, guy who sneaks a cigarette and has an interest in sports. I think he thinks what he is doing is right. But this bloated ,extreme one-sided government echo chamber in Washington has instilled this belief in him that he is an emperor who is always right. Well so far, he has been nearly always wrong. The sycophants need to go and Mr Obama will find out what it means to rule a democratic nation.

Remember November.

The Obama Administration is Killing Jobs and Stunting the Economy

Academic economists are boring. This we know. They don't get quoted on the nightly news (unless they're Obamanomics apologists like the neurotic Paul Krugman). The linked post below takes a thorough detailed, deeply researched-based look at taxes versus spending and the conclusion is; Obama is killing our economy.

In the end, the middle class will scramble to simply survive. Obama is creating a new America alright - the very rich and the very poor.

All You Need to Know About Jourtegrity in the Main Stream Media

What was the name of the journalism class that Kelly O'Donnell attended that taught this brilliance? Tell me again which party is more concerned about skin color?

Indiana No Longer Makes Anything, But We Get Bayh

"For the first time since before the Civil War and perhaps ever, more people in Indiana work in government than in all the factories in the state.

Rocked by layoffs, imports and automation, workers in Indiana plants numbered 430,800 in January, while government at all levels, including schools and publicly owned hospitals, employed 442,800 workers."

From Instapundit

This fact probably wasn't going to sit too well in Bayh's now non-existent re-election bid.

Indiana is surely not the only state now reliant on government employment to keep them afloat.

Let's not call it socialism though, that's so unfair.

Please Stop Barack, You're Embarassing Yourself

The goofiness is spiraling out of control.....

"How many people are getting insurance through their jobs right now?

Raise your hands.

All right. Well, a lot of those folks, your employer it's estimated would see premiums fall by as much as 3,000 percent, which means they could give you a raise."

Inveterate liar. This is what our president is. Remember the android on-board physician in Alien?
Spinning around, white fluid spewing from his mouth, short circuited inaudible emanations. Spouting nonsense, clearly out of control.

Nixon talked to the portraits of dead presidents when he was alone at night. What do you think Obama does?

Maybe they should just pass the damn bill, this guy is scaring the hell out of me.

High School Kids Aren't Really Paying Much Attention

That's why Obama had his pro-ObamaCare rallies in high school gyms this week. When you tell school kids you're "fired up" about health care reform they're going to cheer because they got out of English class to be there. In fact, the one rally at a college was closed to the press - ya never know what those dern college kids might do - we might find a dissenter or two in there.

But adults, the ones paying attention, know that when the baby carriage is careening down the hill towards the expressway it's not the time to say "I need to go home and clean those gutters, right now."

Despite the adoring media covering Obama's tracks at every turn, discerning adults are getting the message. They know that the Obama administration has proven to be inept and promises about healthcare costs falling and care rising, are either pipe dreams or lies.

Exhibit #1

Cash for Clunkers

The Obama administration set aside 1 billion dollars for Cash for Clunkers, an environmental bill that would also stimulate the economy - hopefully for the two car companies Obama now owns; GM and Chrysler.

The 1 billion was to last for 5 months it would not only stimulate the economy, but create jobs. Unfortunately, bad planning made a mockery of the program. The assigned money ran out in 10 days.
Two more billion dollars were added and the program still didn't make it to 5 months.

The results were that we took hundreds of thousands of still operating vehicles off the road, purposely seizing up the engines so they could never run again, (that poorer familiers would have loved to have a chance at buying for small money) and replaced them with cars that in some cases were actually less efficient. Four of the top car companies benefiting were foreign owned and the one that was an American car company,Ford is owned by filthy capitalists.

Dealerships and private repair shops had to lay off auto mechanics all over the country because there were thousands of fewer cars to repair. Yes, car sales spiked but it was merely drawing buyers in early. Sales fell for four months in a row afterward.

So, we have an Obama designed program, designed to socialize an industry, just like ObamaCare, that had its budget tripled and the results were nothing like we were told they would be.

Based on this utter failure we're supposed to believe the budget projections for ObamaCare? Tripled budget anyone?

Reason #2

The Stimulus Plan

An 862 Billion dollar aid bill signed within 10 days of Inauguration. We were told this program would create or save 3 million jobs in the first year and total 5 million jobs created or saved by the 2nd year. Unemployment rates would never surpass 8% and would begin dropping by June of last year. If we didn't pass the Stimulus bill the rate would surely go to 9.2%!

With the Stimulus bill the unemployment rate peaked at 10.4% and 13 months into the bill it is at 9.7%. Estimates of jobs saved or created range from 650,000 to 1.5 million. Here's a real number; 16.8% of people who want full time employment don't have it. and the extra neat feature... general populace 9.7% unemployment - federal jobs increase 8%.

And who has time to talk about the pork and corruption rampant in this bill?

So, another Obama carefully planned program woefully inept and outrageously overhyped.

Two programs, two dismal failures. Snake oil or ineptitude?

Does it matter? Let's save the baby and clean out the leaves later.

It's the Economy, Stupak!

Prediction.

The Pro-Life Stupak 12 Democrats who have professed to vote no on ObamaCare will suddenly collapse when a back-door "guarantee" will be given to the Bartster by big Nan and the O-Man removing the potential for federally funded abortion. This will be a trick of course, as the bill can then be passed with no amending whatsover in either the "reconciliation" or "Slaughter" style of ram-through.

'Ol Bart will be left holding the bag, but the massive porkulus that will no doubt be included in the promise will soothe the pain.

Truth is, if Rep. Stupak is really concerned about the unborn, he'd realize the damage to this economy by this bill will ruin more lives in the long run than the amendment he holds so dear.

It's a far more compelling reason to stick to the no vote threat.

I Don't Remember Al Gore Mentioning This

THE SAHARA TURNING TO A LUSH GREEN

From National Geographic (one just can't tell where the next AGW skeptics will come from!):

"Desertification, drought, and despair—that's what global warming has in store for much of Africa. Or so we hear.

Emerging evidence is painting a very different scenario, one in which rising temperatures could benefit millions of Africans in the driest parts of the continent.

Scientists are now seeing signals that the Sahara desert and surrounding regions are greening due to increasing rainfall.

If sustained, these rains could revitalize drought-ravaged regions, reclaiming them for farming communities.

This desert-shrinking trend is supported by climate models, which predict a return to conditions that turned the Sahara into a lush savanna some 12,000 years ago."

Makes a lot of sense really. The last natural Ice Age ended about 12,000 years ago and we have been warming since (with natural peak/valley cycles in between).

You'd think more car companies would be bragging about how their CO2 spewing vehicles have been around for 12 millenium.

1.2 Million New Federal Workers to Deflate Unemployment Rate

Just in time to rescue the Obama administration's inflated stimulus jobs claims, 1.2 million census workers are putting on their federal overalls and will be marching up to your doorstep to count you. It's a tough task, counting, and has become tougher obviously, because in 2010 we'll use twice as many people to do the job as we did in 2000.

That oughta bring that unemployment rate down (at least during this election year anyway).

Eventually the counting will get done and then these folks will need to get real jobs. Prize to anyone who can think up 1.2 million new, equally non-productive federal jobs so that the unemployment numbers can get a boost during the Prez' campaign for re-election that will start next year.

I'm thinking shovellers. Since Global Warming causes snowstorms (who knew?)we'll need people to shovel out the federal buildings.

Advice for Obama from Abraham Lincoln

Barack Obama is smarter than we are. He clearly believes that these silly polls that show that the disenchantment with his healthcare plan ranges from 54% to 79% are either wrong or meaningless.

Abe Lincoln has this bit of advice from a campaign speech he gave in 1860.

"With public sentiment, nothing can fail; without it nothing can succeed. Consequently he who moulds public sentiment, goes deeper than he who enacts statutes or pronounces decisions."

Oh and since one might complain that Lincoln is a Republican, let's see what JFK had to say on the issue.

"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people."

Reconciliation? Go ahead, Barack, I can't wait.

NY Times says "No Global Warming in US Since 1895"!

Alright, so the article was written in 1989. But doesn't that refute the current premise? Uh, er, no.

See what Hansen (current Global Warmist poobah) had to say to negate this. It's unbelievably hilarious.

Another possibility, he said, was that there were special conditions in the United States that would tend to offset a warming trend. For example, industrial activity produces dust and other solid particles that help form liquid droplets in the atmosphere. These droplets reflect radiation away from Earth and thus have a cooling influence.

Notice that Dr. James Hansen is saying that industrial activity drives down the temperature of the Earth.

So doesn’t that mean we need more rather than less industrial activity?

The Institute of Physics Delivers Deadly Blow to Global Warming

The Institute of Physics, a UK organization of 36,000 respected physical scientists takes a bold step condemning the science that has fed the Anthropogenic Global Warming machine.

"The CRU e-mails as published on the internet provide prima facie evidence of determined and co-ordinated refusals to comply with honourable scientific traditions and freedom of information law. The principle that scientists should be willing to expose their ideas and results to independent testing and replication by others, which requires the open exchange of data, procedures and materials, is vital. The lack of compliance has been confirmed by the findings of the Information Commissioner. This extends well beyond the CRU itself - most of the e-mails were exchanged with researchers in a number of other international institutions who are also involved in the formulation of the IPCC's conclusions on climate change."

The Institute of Physics has existed for over a hundred years and is the most respected organization of its kind. The submission, delivered to the British governmental inquiry into the CRU email fraud, is a withering condemnation of what is now believed to be systematic scientific fraud designed to dupe lay people and fence sitters in the scientific community by fabricating supportive data and ignoring unsupportive data. True scientists are enraged by this.

One wonders how scientists who aren't enraged could still be considered to believe in the scientific method.

Olbermann the self-absorbed jerk, extraordinaire

I know that wasting pixels on this waste of good oxygen is not productive, but I can't help myself.

The Dallas Tea Party folks have created a clever video in response this nitwit's accusation of racism. It warms your heart.

The Skeptics Manifesto

At the blog "I Have a Title for This" the Anthropogenic Global Warming skeptic's manifesto has been developed. It saves us all alot of work. It has "75 reasons to be skeptical global warming" and each and every comment is backed up with a research-based link.

It is thorough and damning in a way that will make warmists cringe. Take this list to your next carbon footprint party and the conversation will have two sides for a change.

Drowning in Red Ink

The Obama administration thinks borrowing more money to create spindly legged job programs will get us out of the unemployment problem. So far the most optimistic forecast for the unemployment problem is that we have created or SAVED up to 2 million jobs since last February 17th when the 800 billion dollar stimulus bill was rammed through Congress with nary a Republican vote or one single person having read it.

The CBO says that that number may actually be as low as 600,000.

Two million jobs gained but we haven't had a single job growth month yet. The unemployment rate hovers around 10 percent when it was 7 percent the day Obama was elected. Somebody's lying.

So let's spend some more money to fatten the wallets of politicians and keep their progeny employed. Federal jobs increased by 8% while the national unemployment rate stayed at 10%.

And now this. Via ABC News

"Economic forecasters say future generations of Americans could have a substantially lower standard of living than their predecessors' for the first time in the country's history if the debt is not brought under control.

Government debt, which fuels the risk of inflation, could make everyday Americans' savings worth less. Higher interest rates would make it harder for consumers and businesses to borrow. Wages would remain stagnant and fewer jobs would be created. The government's ability to cut taxes or provide a safety net would also be weakened, economists say."

And they wonder where these crazy tea partiers are coming from.

More Stimulus Job Losses

Evan Bayh of Indiana is not running for his Senate seat again. There are rumblings about a number of other veteran Democrats who will be abandoning their seats. It's a great time for Democrats to retire.

Why? Because the wild spending is stirring up the great unwashed voters enough to pressure their fat cat representatives? Perhaps. But it is not the overriding factor.

The Stimulus bill of February 2009 and the Omnibus budget bill of 2009 are the real reasons. Together they represent over 1.2 trillion dollars of NEW money. The pork projects within make up the largest Democrat wish list of the last few decades. Billions upon billions are available for Democrat politicians to dole out in their districts. Cousins, nephews, brother-in-laws, sons, daughters, paramours and local businesses are flooded with government largesse like never before and you can bet that "payback" in the form of "greenbacks" are waiting for the pols who brought home the bacon.

Cry not for the ever growing list of Democrat politicians going into "retirement". They will soon be wealthier than they have ever been in their lives.

Global Warmists lay claim to all types of weather

Well it turns out you can't disprove global warming hysteria with a long string of fraudulent claims coming out of the global warming research community. Check out http://www.climatedepot.com/ to see the mountains of evidence of fraud.

And now you also can't disprove global warming hysteria with weather events or climate trends. Because both ABC news (Obama shills extraordinaire) and TIME magazine (Obama graced the cover 35 plus times in one year) say that - you won't believe this...Large snowstorms are caused by global warming.

Pointing out that Global Warming is an absolute fraud is not a fie on Obama. Europe, and even the BBC for god's sake have figured this out. This is out of hand. Someone's got to wake up the Stonewall News Media and get this sh** straightened out. It's not funny anymore.

How the hell do these people sleep at night?

UPDATE: Shocker: Chief Climate Scientist says there has been no warming since 1995

Every time someone tells you Republicans are racist read this.

From Big Journalism. A quiz. Because the Stonewall News Media says it's so doesn't mean it is. In fact, calling tea partiers and anyone who doesn't agree with the current president "racist" seems to be all they have left.

I like this one.

"Answer #9. 82% of the Republican Senators voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964, while 69% of the Democrat Senators voted “Yes.”

Try to remember how the press and Democrat pundits treated Condi Rice during the Bush administration.

More overt lies from the left leaning Associated Press

Powerline does a great job of outing the AP as it overtly lies about the content of the Tim Tebow and Mom Super Bowl Ad to whip up hysteria amongst the Pro-Choice group.

Journalistic integrity has been absent from the AP for years now. Apparently the "Associated" in Associated Press means - associated with Democratic talking points. How heinous.

Government Motors' slippery slope

When Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood told people to "stop driving Toyotas" he took the first step down the very slippery slope many people worried about when Obama took over General Motors and Chrysler.

For certain the gas pedal, and now brake pedal flaws in Toyotas represent a potentially dangerous situation for owners of various brands of the cars. But LaHood, NPR and the Stonewall News Media are jumping on Toyota's neck with both jackboots.

Am I suggesting a concerted effort here by Obama supporters because they see a chance for the Government owned car companies to benefit from Toyota's misfortunes? Er, uh, no - of course not.

Maybe just a little case of schadenfreude, perhaps?

Oddly Ford, the US company that is not owned by US taxpayers has been going gangbusters and exceeding all expectations. They make very good cars and have gained a good deal of their support from buyers who like the idea that they aren't supported by American taxpayers hard earned dollars (well okay, Chinese dollars, in reality).

Japan is watching closely how Obama handles this and will have plenty to say after this incident is over. Expect the introduction of a new tariff on American imports to Japan if LaHood and the heavies continue their protectionist ways.

As for Ford, don't have any kind of safety slip-up or the Gummint will get ya.

Democratic Senators rub elbows with bad, bad big business.

You can't make this stuff up.

From Democrat Robert Menendez chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committe:

In the upcoming elections, voters will face a choice between Republicans who are standing with Wall Street fat cats, bankers and insurance companies - or Democrats who are working hard to clean up the mess we inherited by putting the people's interests ahead of the special interests.”

So what do our gatekeeper Democrats do? They spend a lavish champaign-swilling fois gras-munching get together with the biggest lobbyists Washington has ever known.

All this nonsense happens right under our noses and we send the same crooks back to Washington each year. And we believe that a new "open, honest, transparent" government will be brought to Washington if we just elect Barack Obama.

It is worse now than it has ever been and the Cover For Obama Media is stonewalling all the information. Obamites are lapping up the daily pablum about this guy and he, Pelosi and Reid are marching over the little people with overt arrogance.

Another huge story that the Stonewall News Media will hide

Speaker Pelosi has appropriated the use of military jets dozens of times for the use of her children and grandchildren at a cost of hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of dollars to the US taxpayer. The carbon footprint alone is shameful.

A Silent Victory for the US Military

Over 4,000 US military men and women died fighting for freedom for Iraqis. They did not die in vain.

Saddam Hussein was responsible for nearly 40,000 deaths per year over a 25 year span. Some say he killed nearly a million of his own people (not to mention how many Iranians and Kuwaitis died in his territorial wars during that time).

The deaths in Iraq are now equivalent to the same numbers of murders in NY and Chicago each month. An incredible change and a savings of a tremendous number of lives. Not to mention that a free democracy now exists in the Middle East.

War for oil? Not a single US company has won the bids for oil contracts since they started 2 years ago.

Please read this post at Gateway Pundit. The Marines of Anbar Province are coming home from Iraq victorious and I'm betting the SNM - Stonewall News Media has no intention of covering it.

The pictures of the kids alone are well worth the look.

Supreme Court needs a do over on Campaign Finance

Horrific, horrific decision by the SCOTUS on restoring corporate finance of political ads. Slippery slope you say? Freedom of speech you say? BS. If it is truly about "free" speech then why is the result billions in spending?

If individuals can only give $500 towards a candidate then let Procter and Gamble, the IBEW or the Sierra Club spend the same on their advertising. $500. That's it. Spend it wisely.

We need to get on board with this now and legislate an override or detour of this decision. Otherwise, it becomes who can spend the most to destroy a candidate who doesn't toe the line.

Hell has frozen over

Pigs are flying everywhere.

A Republican has won a Senate race in Massachusetts - and not just any seat but the seat of the most liberal Senator in the most liberal state. Impossible. Unbelievable. And amazingly heartening for the future of our republic.

Now Barack, Harry and Nancy the ball is in your court. You've abused your one party rule in the most overtly arrogant ways. Wake up now or feel a political tsunami this November like has never been seen before.

Justice is served. And this is just the beginning.

An enormity of meaning

The shockwaves resulting from a Republican win in Massachusetts for a US Senate seat that was last held by Ted Kennedy are being greatly UNDERstated. Yup I said understated.

Living here in Massachusetts it is much easier to be cognizant of this.

I have lived here for 38 years. I am a registered Democrat primarily because I know that the only value a primary vote would have for me here is to help elect the lesser of any Democrats running for an elected seat. Can you imagine that? The Democrats are always guaranteed a win except for a few exceptions in the case of the governor.

We have 10 members of the US House of Representatives. They are all Democrats. We have 2 US Senators. They are both Democrats. The Attorney General is a Democrat. The Secretary of State is a Democrat. Get this - the state legislature - Senators and Representatives - of which there are over 200, are 94% Democrat.

And again, this was Ted Kennedy's seat. The avowed single most liberal member of the Senate!

There are 3 times the number of registered Democrats as Republicans. A 37 to 12 advantage.

The national margin for Obama over McCain was 7%. In Massachusetts 26%.

You think a win by Brown won't be an absolute shocker? 10 Democrat Congressmen and women will be running for election this year. They NEVER have legitimate competition from Republicans.

My guess is this year that is going to change. Big time.

Obama in full panic mode

Why else would he, on the eve of his visit to stump for Coakley, decide it's time to give labor unions a break from the Cadillac tax on health plans? Because he knows that Massachusetts is all about labor and tossing this mega-bone just before the weekend will stop the bleeding of deteriorating support from unions.

I say the union top brass may have negotiated this but the rank and file will see through and still vote for Scott Brown.

This ploy of selective payouts to Big Pharma, various US Senators and now the unions is the kind of discrimination that will kill the already near death public support.

Who's running the White House, Machiavelli?

Friday, January 15, 2010

His bags probably fly free

President Obama is rumored to be making a visit to Boston this Sunday in support of Democrat Senate candidate Martha Coakley. Though it will be a quick plane trip President Obama will be carrying a lot of baggage with him.

Bag number 1:
Obama recently visited Virginia gubernatorial candidate Democrat Creigh Deeds before his November election bid.
Creigh Deeds lost

Bag number 2:
He strongly supported and often visited Democrat Governor John Corzine of New Jersey.
John Corzine lost

Bag number 3:
The city of Chicago was in line for the 2016 Olympics - most thought they were a shoe-in; President Obama and First Lady Michelle visited Europe to seal the deal on the eve of voting.
Chicago lost - Big

Obama's favorability rating has dropped from 72% in February to 47% now. Are you sure you want Obama to show up, Martha?

And who will escort the President from the airport? The Massachusetts State Police have already endorsed Scott Brown and I doubt that the "stupid"(BO's words) Cambridge police are likely able to find their way to Logan.
.

Democrats scrambling for a Sinking Ship Spin

There has been a sea change in the way Democrat pundits and Stonewall News Media reporters and writers are spinning the Senate race in Massachusetts. The polls are shifting towards the Republican and no amount of blaming the pollsters is going to change the results.

The new spin is that Coakley is a weak candidate who ran a weak campaign. She deserves to lose. Uh -huh. How could she not beat a Republican. In Massachusetts. When the candidate is stupid.
(this last quip suggested by the brilliant Boston Globe columnist Brian McGrory with the over used "you won't find him up late at night at Mensa meetings" joke).

Note: Two columns into your "new" career at the Globe and the tired old saws are already back?

From Jonah Goldberg at NRO:

The Democrats’ “bad climate” is a direct result of how they’ve governed. The populist backlash is fueled by a sense that Democrats are acting on their preferred agenda and by their own rules. From the shenanigans of the people who write our tax code and collect our taxes to special deals and secret arrangements for big businesses and legislators who play ball, the Democrats have abandoned transparency in favor of transparent arrogance.

Dems don't want anyone (particularly Dems) to believe the good ship Demcrat Majority is going down from anything other than the dumb luck of presenting a feeble candidate.

Coronation Interruptus

Cigars, a little cognac and some lovely mahogany private function rooms at Boston's best hotels. This is how the fat cat Massachusetts democrats have envisioned the evening of January 19th. The night of the coronation of Martha Coakley as US Senator from Massachusetts. Things would be over quickly, the early returns assuring a 30 point win for Martha and a humiliating defeat to yet another Quixotic Republican. Plenty of jokes about his stupid pick-up truck ads and insults about his daughter's failed attempt on American Idol. In the labor union halls the beer is swilled as the paid sign holders for Coakley revel in their defeat of yet another fiscal buzz killer. An argument or two might break out when someone suggests that they just voted to have their Cadillac health care plans taxed. Things quiet down when they nervously agree that "that'll never happen".

The bluest state in America. Ten Congressmen - Ten Democrats. Two Senators - Two Democrats. One Governor - One Democrat. A state legislature that is 94% Democrat. The only state to vote for McGovern. Nuclear free zone Cambridge, also referred to proudly as "the Peoples Republic of Cambridge". In Massachusetts you vote Democrat or you keep your mouth shut if you don't. When things get done in Massachusetts it is the will of Democrats only. No Republican input.

The result: near the top in all taxes, near the top in the misery index. Corruption that has several state reps, senators in jail or heading there. When an electorate passed a referendum to lower the income tax the Democrat government broke constitutional law and refused to lower the tax. Recently the sales tax was increased by 25% in a dead of the night vote. It's when the Democrats do their best work. Just ask Pelosi and Reid on the federal level.

But lately Coakley's challenger has shown some staying power and in 2 polls Scott Brown holds a lead. It is now perceived as a statistical dead heat. Could people in Massachusetts be waking up? Have they finally had enough?

It's a David vs. Goliath story with tens of millions of dollars from out-of-state Democrat organizations pouring in this week to flood the airways with negative ads. The Democrats are running scared and the Obama administration must be feeling just a little Marie Antoinette-like.

Revolution is coming and heads are going to roll.
