Bring it on. It will be the biggest mistake of the already mistake prone One-Party-Washington. Former CIA director Porter Goss thinks there may be just a hint of politics involved as he writes in the WaPo today:
Since leaving my post as CIA director almost three years ago, I have remained largely silent on the public stage. I am speaking out now because I feel our government has crossed the red line between properly protecting our national security and trying to gain partisan political advantage. We can't have a secret intelligence service if we keep giving away all the secrets. Americans have to decide now.
Goss goes on to implicate the leaders of the democratic party as knowing everything about the coercive techniques and in fact asking if more were necessary.
Please read this entire article and at the end you'll find this perfect WaPo caveat:
The writer, a Republican, was director of the CIA from September 2004 to May 2006 and was chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence from 1997 to 2004.
Lest we think a sane democrat would have this kind of opinion.

Yes, you're quite right about the WaPO's double-standard. For example, I did a quick search on their site to see if they'd put the party ID for Madeleine Albright, but of course not -- it says this instead: The writer was secretary of state from 1997 to 2001. She is principal of theAlbright Group LLC.
Thanks for checking that. I assumed that would be the case but was too lazy to check.
