When you lose Jon Stewart......well

The fake news of Comedy Central was on ACORN scandals 3 days late - which put them 10 days ahead of the StoneWall News Networks. Again Stewart was only 6 days late with the ClimateGate story - 2 weeks ahead of the SNN.

Uh Oh

.

Three weeks late the NYT "reports" on ClimateGate

In pointing out that Climatologist Phil Jones, head of the CRU, East Anglia - an author of some of the most egregious ClimateGate emails has stepped down, the NYT decides it's time to pull back the curtain for a minor peak.

The e-mail exchanges among several prominent American and British climate-change scientists appear to reveal efforts to keep the work of skeptical scientists out of major journals and the possible hoarding and manipulation of data to overstate the case for human-caused climate change.

This represents the closest thing to a fair description of the scandal we've yet seen from the Stone Wall Media. Give teh internet tubers credit for forcing the issue.

Set these SEALs free, now

Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq, the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.

The three, all members of the Navy’s elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral’s mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.

Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.

This scum kills 4 guys and in the process of capturing him the SEALs give him a bloody lip. Sure, let's court martial these guys - we need to show our compassion. Maybe Obama can have the SEALs tried in New York - you know, to prove how barbaric our fighting forces are.

A telling visit to a college town

I spent the Thanksgiving holiday with relatives who work and study at a large Midwestern Research University. I loved it, as I was able to spend time with my favorite people.

Friday morning I opened the daily newspaper and within the first section there were two large stories about Global Warming.

One was headlined "Obama's Climate Change Proposals Unlikely to Affect Daily Lives" . It was a story about how Obama's upcoming visit and promises to the Copenhagen Climate Council would hardly cause a blip in our daily activities but would surely advance the cause against global warming.

The second headline 3 pages later was " Attack against Global Warming will Save Lives ". I swallowed hard and read the story about how keeping the planet at its current temperature would save millions of lives. Both of these stories were in the front section, both mentioned not one word about ClimateGate which was then 9 days old.

Somehow this newspaper was able to include both stories without attribution to a news service. Is that legal? So I presume they came from AP or Reuters both known for shilling the AGW party line.

After reading this I wanted to talk to my relatives about the insanity of this but reserved judgement as I had already been warned(by the scientist relative no less!)that "Oh that email story has already been proven to be overblown." (this is the same relative who once gave me a copy of Rahm Emmanuel's book "The Plan" as a gift.)

I was in deep depression about the lack of journalism in this college town newspaper and the lack of open thought at the ivory tower that my relative worked in.

Brainwashing is not nearly a strong enough word.

You can fool some of the people all of the time and you can fool all of the people some of the time.

But you can't fool all of the people all of the time...

Eduardo Zorita thinks the Climate Goons should go. And he should know, he supplied them with data.

Why I think that Michael Mann, Phil Jones and Stefan Rahmstorf should be
barred from the IPCC processEduardo Zorita, November 2009

Short answer: because the scientific assessments in which they may take part are not credible anymore. A longer answer: My voice is not very important. ......By writing these lines I will just probably achieve that a few of my future studies will, again, not see the light of publication. My area of research happens to be the climate of the past millennia, where I think I am appreciated by other climate-research 'soldiers'.

As you must know I've been railing about this for over a year. The hockey stick graph was the first obvious outting of the very, very bad science of AGW. I thought surely that would sink this hideous ship of fools and of course it was covered up by the MSM and only fired a shot across their bow. Now I wonder if this so very clearcut evidence of wholesale fraud can be enough to do the job. If it is, it will have absolutely nothing to do with "conventional journalism" which by ignoring this story for two weeks has pronounced itself dead.

So THAT'S why Sanjay Gupta refuses to become Surgeon General!

Remember when Obama told us that his new Surgeon General would be Sanjay Gupta the TV doc? And then it was nevermind.

Here's why Sanjay turned down the gig.

SANJAY GUPTA, CNN CHIEF MEDICAL CORRESPONDENT: About 75 to 90 percent of breast cancers are found in women who have absolutely no family history and no identifiable risk factors. If you are a woman hearing that at age 40, right now watching, 75 to 90 percent of breast cancers found with people who have no risk factors, no family history, what should they do?

LUCY MARION, PREVENTIVE SERVICES TASK FORCE: I would not recommend it. I would not make a recommendation. We’re saying that the benefits are small.

GUPTA: What do you mean by that? When you say the benefits are small? Let’s not beat around the bush here. What exactly are you trying to say?

MARION: We look at it in various ways. For example, we look at life years gained by the actual screening every year or every other year. And the life years gained for that group is not very large. There are some life years gained. But it’s not very large.

GUPTA: You’re a nurse and…

MARION: And I know…

GUPTA: I don’t want to, you know…

MARION: I am.

GUPTA: … dig ourselves into a whole [sic] here. You’re a nurse, you’re in a profession of healing and compassion.

Are you comfortable with what you’re saying right now? Because what you’re saying, what I’m hearing you say is that you’re saying some lives just aren’t worth it. We — that’s why we’re changing these screening recommendations. And that is an incredibly frightening thing to hear from someone like yourself.

Is that what you’re saying?

MARION: No, I’m not saying that some lives are worth it. I do not say that. But as you know, as a physician, there are many screening tests that could save lives but could create many other issues that we made decisions about.

GUPTA: So, really, the harm that you’re saying to women, the harm that you cite is that it could cause unnecessary anxiety and worry in women who get these mammograms, for example, if they have a false positive? Do you think that it would cause anxiety in women if they are told that look, 90 percent — up to 90 percent of women who develop breast cancer never had a risk factor and now you’re not sure if you have that breast cancer because you didn’t get the test? Don’t you think that causes anxiety as well?

MARION: Yes, we know that the biggest risk factor is age. And that’s clear. And so the other — and we know other risk factors and we know that many do not have known risk factors if you don’t include age.

The Obama plan to cheap out on womens' healthcare wasn't going to work for Gupta.

President Obama wins Nobel Prize for Peace

I give up. The shallow "cult of personality" trumps substance again.

Mother Theresa and Martin Luther King must be rolling over in their graves.

This does answer the burning question....." Why did Obama keep telling McChrystal to delay his report about the need for more troops in Afghanistan?"

He didn't want the report to come out because he knew about this coming up. I don't even want to think about the way this delay may have impacted the battlefield.

It's all about the ego.

UPDATE:

Hey guess what? 5 Days after winning the Nobel Prize for Peace Obama is sending an "unannounced" 13,000 more troops to Afghanistan. Remember O said.." I had no idea I was even nominated!"

You can't make this stuff up.

What do you think the chances are that they'll pick up the phone if you have chest pain?

The IRS didn't answer some 22.4 million calls from taxpayers last year. And President Obama wants us to believe that government run health care is something that will "improve the health of all Americans".

Does President Obama think the entire American electorate is stupid? Yes, he absolutely does. In truth, he's basing most of his policy on just that premise.

The Appeasement President Kicks Tibet to the Curb

Obama has appeased Russia (Georgia), Iran (nukes), Palestine (Jewish settlements) and North Korea (what missiles?) while apologizing to anyone and everyone for everything that American presidents did before he arrived. The "reset" button has been set as the Obama administration loves to say. Everything will be all better now....pat pat.

And here's your reset Dalai Llama. Remember how for the past 18 years you could be sure of getting a meeting with the President of the USA when you came to America each year to plead for proper treatment of Tibetans who were bounced from their country by the Chinese 56 years ago? It was largely symbolic but it meant that the US had your back. Buzzzzzz, RESET.

No meeting with Obama until AFTER he meets with CHINA first! Guess what that message will be.....

Mainland China, our benefactor for the Stimulus Package, TARP money and the future trillions in Cap and Trade and ObamaCare are holding the car keys and saying.."you're staying in tonight kid".

Our President is saluting and saying " Yes, sir - whatever you say, sir."

And a chill wind blows on the island of Taiwan tonight.

"All the news that's fit to print."

Michelle Malkin, one of the blogospheres most brilliant and tireless minds recounts how the NYT own ombudsman describes their ineptitude and political partisanship regarding overlooking the stories about Van Jones and the ACORN video series. It is the absolute essence of what we've been saying around here about jourtegrity lost.

You have to read the ombudsman's comments. He should definitely stay away from the cafeteria food for awhile

Here's the hidden video we all want to see: first day on the job for a new journalist at the NYT when they have it explained to them what journalism "our way" is all about.

Note: I've been on charette with the documentary film that we're trying to complete the last couple of weeks. JL will be back full force soon.

When a People fear their Government that is Tyranny. When a Government fears its People that is Liberty

Jefferson said that 230 years ago and it remains valid.  The government is getting too big, too fast and America's regular folks are paying attention.

Get your yucks over the rest of the weekend watching the usual suspects (CNN, ABC,CBS,MSNBC, and the elitist newspapers) try to minimize and demonize the efforts.  Smile when you watch it instead of getting mad, it's much easier to take.  After all, it means they're frightened.

I don't think this is the revolution Bill Ayers had in mind at all.

'Nuff said

Add to that some awful stories coming out of the NHS in Britain about termination of life in it's later stages by healthcare workers and the incredible deficits from Canada, Britain and France for their public plans and you can see why Germany is reprivatizing their healthcare.

If you don't think journalism is dead in the Main Stream Media

....think of the last article you read in the: New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, or the last news story you saw on the ABC Evening News, NBC Evening News, CBS Evening News or anything touted as news on MSNBC and the other usual suspects; including Fox News. Then read this.

Still think there's actual journalism happening out there? I would argue that the closest thing to balanced, unbiased journalism happens in the Wall Street Journal and few other print rags. J-school frankly gets a very big part of the responsibility for this. From personal experience I can tell you J-school is severely biased toward the Democratic Talking Points angle.

Get your news from the WSJ, and weight your internet noodling with balanced sites - NOT just the sites that feed you the red meat you crave.

Bush Volunteered to go to Vietnam - and CBS knew it

Rathergate. The most visible of the Main Stream Media's attacks on President Bush during the presidential campaign of 2004 never got the full airing of its deceitfulness in the MSM - of course.

The Democrat boy's club also known as the Main Stream Media buried the story, and in fact tried to make Dan Rather some kind of victim. The victim, of course, was George W Bush whose military career was besmirched by the falsification of documents by Mary Mapes and the overlooking of this fact by Dan Rather. Bush was painted as a coward who pulled strings to avoid going to Vietnam. Journalistic malfeasance of the highest order. It nearly won the presidency for (gulp) John Kerry.

Even worse it has come to light, and has been recently reported by Bernard Goldberg, that Mapes new that Bush actually volunteered to go to Vietnam.

"Mapes had information prior to the airing of the September 8 [2004] Segment that President Bush, while in the TexANG [Texas Air National Guard] did volunteer for service in Vietnam but was turned down in favor of more experienced pilots. For example, a flight instructor who served in the TexANG with Lieutenant Bush advised Mapes in 1999 that Lieutenant Bush “did want to go to Vietnam but others went first.” Similarly, several others advisedMapes in 1999, and again in 2004 before September 8, that Lieutenant Bush hadvolunteered to go to Vietnam but did not have enough flight hours toqualify."

Thanks MSM for further proving that journalism is dead in your realm.

MSNBC Edits Video to Incite Race Wars

Home of such fabulous jour-no-lists as: Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews and so on has graced their narrowing viewing public with more journo-lies. This one includes editing video to suggest a machine gun toting protestor at an Obama rally was a good example of the racism showing up in the anti-healthcare crowd.

They edited the video only to show the lower half of his body. Each time the camera tilted up they cut out of the shot. The problem of course is that the man's skin color didn't fit the narrative.

He was black.

Remarkably, (not so remarkably really, MSNBC has to be run by complete idiots) they used this clip to launch into a discussion about white racism against the black president.

I no longer blame MSNBC for their indiscretions I can only blame whatever few people watch this dreadful waste of good oxygen and bandwidth.

If you watch MSNBC and can't see what dreck is being spoonfed to you, you are a melonhead. A complete melonhead.

Astroturfing ObamaCare

Those "nazis" (Pelosi), "evilmongers" (Harry Reid) and all the other protestors who deign to question Teh One on his healthcare proposal do so out of conscience.

The Obama "supporters" in this photo do so with pre-fab signs and while getting paid $15 an hour. They got bussed in to Obama's New Hampshire speech and are showing up at many protest sites to intimidate the dissenters. In one case the SEIU thugs were called in to beat up a man handing out bumper stickers. By the way, this man happened to be black.

The LA Times, normally a staunch voice for liberal causes provided this photo and this story describing the astroturfing going on to race this health care bill through before anyway can interpret what it says.

Barack Obama has never gotten out of campaign mode and thinks the gullible electorate will swallow virtually anything he says about anything, providing he throws enough money at it.
.

Hillary's meds need to be changed

Maybe Africa just isn't where our Secretary of State wanted to be the last couple of weeks. Obviously she was on tenderhooks when a translator slipped and said President Clinton instead of President Obama.

She could have sidestepped the need for a brash reaction by simply saying: "Did you mean president Obama?" Which of course the translator meant.

Now Clinton thinks it's great international diplomacy to suggest our presidential elections are fixed:

"Our democracy is still evolving," Clinton said. "You know we had some problems in some of our presidential elections. As you may remember, in 2000 our presidential election came down to one state where the brother of one of the men running for president was governor of the state. So we have our problems too."

Nice. And some people have had the nerve to suggest Hillary would be an improvement over the very intelligent, and nothing-but-class, Condi Rice.

Condi for President in 2012.

Stop the Insanity! "I feel global warming when I fly."

I used to scratch my head whenever I thought about how Jim Jones got those 800 people to kill thenselves with the poisoned Kool Aid.

No more. The number of tin foil hat - global warming - quick give us cap and trade - idiots out there extends easily into our most intelligent class of individuals - politicians.

This one is from Democrat Congresswoman Debbie Stabenow who insists we race ahead unbridled to embrace a cap and trade legislation bill that will increase energy costs by 90% within 5 years of its enactment, and promote the net loss of 2 million jobs in the energy sector - all to defeat a global warming threat that is both false and therefore certainly not anthropogenic.

"Climate change is very real," she confessed as she embraced cap and trade's massive tax increase on Michigan industry - at the same time claiming, against all the evidence, that it would not lead to an increase in manufacturing costs or energy prices. "Global warming creates volatility. I feel it when I'm flying. The storms are more volatile. We are paying the price in more hurricanes and tornadoes."

Sorry Deb hurricanes have been both less frequent and less powerful in recent years and of course here we are in mid August 2009 - not one hurricane or tropical storm yet.

Now because you "fly" and apparently you think the great unwashed in your district don't partake of such an activity, you've given insight into global warming that I'm sure all your constituents appreciate. That would be those that can't read, watch television, hear a radio or have a brain larger than a walnut.

Did anyone see Deb carrying a casserole to the latest MENSA picnic? Neither did I.

Hypocrisy thy name is Congressman Green from Texas

So voter fraud was rampant in the last election. At least 14 law suits were brought against ACORN for voter registration violation. Many believe that creating a law to require photo ID would help to eliminate fraud - such as double voting, voting by the dead, and the famous voting under the name Mickey Mouse et cetera.

Congressman Green of Texas thinks photo ID is not necessary it would keep people from coming to the polls. Perhaps he means undocumented immigrants who would be most likely to vote for him or other Democrats. His voting record indicates as such.
HOWEVER, when it comes time to go to a Congressman Green town hall don't try showing up without a photo ID. We need to know who y'all are!! Maybe we can send your name off to
flag@whitehouse.gov and fatten up that enemies list for the Prez.

Obama: "Stop talking and ...get out of my way."

Now here's a guy who Actually. Thinks. He. Is. King.

He thinks representative government is a bone you throw to the masses. But heaven forbid if you question anything he says. The first amendment - that's the freedom of speech one - means nothing. He'll sick the data collectors at flag@whitehouse.gov on you. A permanent record of your message, and anything reported about you - true/false or exaggerated will be kept in the Congressional record.

He thinks people who support him should "get up in peoples' faces" and " punch back twice as hard". This great advice has resulted in a black man being struck down at a rally, kicked in the back and face by 3 members of the SEIU union and called a n***er. Obama the "Great Divider" has not, to put it mildly, advanced the public discourse.

Obama, sadly, is muffing the chance to use his political capital and good will to actually reform health care. He is turning it into an "us vs. them" topic and telling working class Americans that they shall have no voice. Obama's lack of political experience, bad "Chicago way" tactics, and massive ego are bringing him and our country down.

Can you imagine what the media would do if the Bush administration had done or said any of the things Obama and minions have said or done just in the last week?

AP pulls the curtain back on their agenda

Jourtegrity takes a huge hit with the largest news gathering organization farming out their "reporting" to 4 leftist organizations.

This pretty much signals the death of any semblance of neutrality in journalism. AP supplies boilerplate newsprint filler to the vast majority of newspapers in America. If you've noticed that your local paper has been moving pretty left the last couple of years, wait a few weeks, you ain't seen nuthin' yet.

AP, itself a not-for-profit enterprise, identified the four organizations as "civic-minded" nonprofits. They also all have decidedly liberal sponsors. A cursory glance at the "independent" news shops reveals their reliance on left-tilting patrons such as the Knight Foundation and leftist donors such as financier Herbert Sandler and currency speculator George Soros.
Sandler and his wife, Marion, founders of ProPublica, are generous givers to Democratic candidates and left-wing causes including the Center for American Progress and ACORN, the ethically-challenged radical action group. Soros, an early backer of CPI as well as the radical MoveOn.org, poured tens of millions into attacks on President George W. Bush.

Enjoy waking up to your local version of The Democrat Talking Points Bugle. Game over.

This might be the one that causes me to check out the New Zealand real estate pages.

You can't make this stuff up

Would people just stop being so rowdy by questioning our politicicans when they're home on August recess for crying out loud? They're just trying to do their jobs as honest government representatives.

This honorable gentleman is chairman of the "House Oversight and Government Reform Committee". He's minding the store!!

re: www.yahoo.com

"A leading Democrat in the House of Representatives who has rebuffed Republican efforts to subpoena records of a mortgage program for favored borrowers at Countrywide Financial Corp got home loans from that lender, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.
Representative Edolphus Towns, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, obtained two loans from Countrywide, which was bought last year by Bank of America, the newspaper said, citing information from the lawmaker's mortgage documents."

Barbara Boxer is irate that we dare question the politicians about government policy. The White House has a new "snitch" line so you can report people who are questioning the administration's healthcare plan.

Honestly, Obamaniacs, is this the type of government you were expecting when you signed on to Hope and Change? Be honest with yourself. Check out the facts, put down the KoolAid and get real. It's a totalitarian government disguised as "change".

Here are a few more names to Google: Charles Rangel, Chris Dodd, William Jefferson, John Conyer's wife. That's a starter list. Check back with me later and tell me you still want to be a Democrat.

Clunkers program a grand loser

Four of the top five car models purchased by the people who are turning in their cars under the "Cash for Clunkers" program are foreign cars. I predicted this in an earlier blog. No data out yet (because the Obama administration won't release it) but my supposition is that a far greater percentage of the turned in cars are American instead of foreign.

Crush American cars and replace them with foreign models and do it with American taxpayer money. What's not to like....if you're from Korea or Japan.

One bright note, the lone American company in the top five is Ford, the only American car company that did not beg for bailout money from the government. And from the interviews that is apparently the reason that people are choosing Ford.

Oh, and the environmental impact of this program is negligible if not actually negative.
.
Eventually someone will do an exhaustive investigation of all the ridiculously inane aspects of this law and discover how monumentally stupid it is on all levels. It will become the brunt of jokes and in fact will be used to describe any future government boondoggle...no wait - it will actually be used to replace the term "government boondoggle".
.
"Government run healthcare? No thanks, that's probably just another cash for clunkers if you know what I mean."

More shameful race baiting from ABC

As I watched ABC news air it's top of the hour program this morning I was astonished at the race baiting lede.

"It appears that the shooter in the murders in Pennsylvania was motivated by the results of the election."

How do they know this I thought? A blog that the killer kept outlined his plans, emotions etc for the last 8 or 10 months. Robin Roberts the ABC anchor asked the reporter on site "Well what motivated the murderer?" She clearly wanted to get at the right-wing nutjob's racial hatred quickly.

The reporter apparently didn't get the message. He went on to outline (with supporting text on the screen) the diary entries of the murderer. He was lonely. He bought guns. He couldn't find a girlfriend. He was nervous. He aborted his plan once. He didn't think he was ugly. He liked lifting weights. Where was the Obama hate? Where was it?

Finally a quote from the blog referencing the election. "I've been following the election it seems to be getting alot of attention this year."

That's your racist murderer quote? That's it?

That was it. No further quotes detailing his plans to avenge the election or whatever they wanted us to believe. They wanted this to be a race story and it clearly wasn't. It was the tragic story of a deranged loner who killed white women at a dance class. Not exactly election revenge stuff.

Shame on ABC. They owe the viewing public an apology for that misleading, race baiting story.
Racism in America? You bet. It's in the mainstream media.

Single payer health insurance an Obama dream

Single payer means government health care. Obama has always suggested that government run health care is his dream, even if it takes 10 years. A video surfaced today that clearly had Obama declaring such on the campaign trail.

"Keep your own doctor", "Keep your current plan" that's the mantra from Obama and minions during this race to pass a new sweeping health care bill. One simply can not have that with a government "single payer" program. Are we being lied to for the sake of blowing another huge, expensive, socialist style program by us. Yup.

The white house ran out some spokespeople today to say that the video wasn't accurate. What's not accurate? It is a videotape segment of Obama clearly speaking in his own words. Is the White House suggesting that Obama's words don't matter?

I think that's exactly what they're saying.

Wanna feel 1984ish Big Brother creepy? Check out this video where the White House tells us all we need to know. Don't listen to all those other terrible people! We know best. Hugo Chavez must be pulling these strings.

Middle Class Tax Increase Trial Balloons Sent Up

Tax cheat and Treasury Secretary Tim Geitner is floating the idea of middle class tax increases. President Obama sends out the clowns first to take the intial flak and then he can come out and say: "but they won't be very large" a few days after the rage dies down a bit. It's a politically expedient way of breaking a campaign promise. Something the Prez has done countless times.

Cash for Clunkers a little too telling

Cash for Clunkers, the federal program that gives people $4500 for their car that gets less than 18 miles per gallon is a bust all around.

1. We're giving money to throw cars into the scrap heap (yes they must be destroyed) - an environmental waste of epic proportions. Most of these cars, we will find, could have been on the road for many more years of usefulness. 18mpg or not, this is horrible waste.

2. We are taking $4500 per car of taxpayer money (almost double that when we pay off the Chinese for the loans), and there is absolutely no guarantee that they will buy products from the government bailed out American companies GM and Chrysler. Or from Ford for that matter, as they only have 2 hybrid models. My guess is most people will buy the high mpg cars from Toyota, Honda, Nissan etc. Money borrowed from foreigners, double debt service taxes from Americans, to buy mostly foreign cars. In the name of smaller carbon footprints and economic stimulus? BS.

3. And like most government programs it is poorly designed and poorly executed - dealers are on the hook for the money while the gov't figures out how to distribute it. The solution, by the way, as of yesterday is to triple the amount of money available. Someone find out just how much of the cost goes to "administering" the plan.

Oh yeah, I want government run healthcare.

Hugo helps the people make wise media choices

What's a President for if he can't keep the "people" from being inundated with all this newsy stuff?

Chavez, Bush hater and Obama BFF, thinks the media should just be quiet and only cover issues that are favorable to the country's leader - kinda like our very own New York Times.

He said the government is developing eight new laws or reforms of existing laws that will have an impact on the media, including one that creates a new set of "media crimes" punishable with prison sentences.

When are people who are so in love with this dictator going to admit that he is NOT what they had hoped and believed he was. He throws bones (very small, bitter bones) to the disadvantaged to get votes, and then rules a totalitarion government with an iron fist.

Not your father's revolution

This revolution appears to have a different face than most people expected. Not too many long haired hippies (although there are a few) and the music is less 10 Years After and more Big and Rich.

The Tea Party phenomenon of the last few months appears to be growing. Regular folks, not just college students or potheads seem to be taking time out of their days and mostly weekends and evenings (most have jobs) to let their legislators know that generally they are very concerned about government taking over many aspects of what once was private enterprise. The healthcare plan is a hot button that triggers a great deal of the recent, let's give it a nice radical term, unrest.

Senator Claire McCaskill made the blunder of kicking these middle class warriors off her sidewalk last week as they were protesting the socializing of healthcare. Last night the rowdies took over McCaskill's town hall meeting (that she couldn't attend!)

Power to the people.

Billy Mays' Spirit Lives On

The great pitchman Billy Mays, hawker of late night TV-Only products such as Mighty Putty, Might Mend-it, Oxi-Clean and Steam Buddy may have taken the great dirt nap a few weeks ago, but his spirit lives on.

In our President.

No past president has worn out the tires on Air Force One the way Barack Obama has. He has travelled far and wide to apologize for our country's mere existence and to appease any and all despots with gentle and diplomatic man hugs. Don't worry, be happy - Georgia on your mind? Go for it.

And at home it's the snake oil salesmanship that Billy Mays could only marvel at. "Buy this TARP, Buy this Stimulus, Buy this Auto Industry buyout........and do it before Midnight tonight!" And we did. Well we didnt -our democratic Reps and Senators bought it hook, line and sinker. And when the package arrived the products, like they always do, left us wanting. In the excitement of the pitch and the rush to buy before midnight, our government served up several steaming hot plates of foul- smelling over-priced porkulus. Ick. The smell won't go away and the deficit will linger for decades.

Now Barack has taken on his greatest challenge. He means to convince us, ala Billy Mays, that what we have isn't good enough - our cleaner doesn't clean well enough, our glue doesn't stick well enough, our health care system stinks and if we would just buy before Midnight tonight - all will be well.

And this is where Barack is making poor Billy roll over in his grave. Barack is going to sell the monstrous health care plan just like all the other late night products he's sold - without even showing us the product! Just scare the hell out of everyone and convince them that everything sucks and they'll buy before midnight tomorrow night!

Barack, like that huckster PT Barnum knows that a sucker is born every minute and most people are more stupid than a bunch of Cambridge cops.

Actual concrete plans for needed health care change

Ever notice that the democrat controlled Congress and the democrat President aren't too nifty at actually explaining what their health care plan is about? The vague rhetoric is about getting all Americans covered without increasing the national debt.

Congressional Budget Office investigators say that is not possible under the Obama plan. The CBO is a congressionally controlled office. Democrats can expect the rosiest picture from this group. If that's the rosiest assessment maybe this plan is just plain inadequate.

Enter Governor of Louisianna Bobby Jindal. Jindal is a bright young star in national politics and happens to be a Republican. He outlines, in a WSJ article, a clear, sensible 7 point plan on how to go about creating a better health care plan in America. It makes sense, it's understandable, it's not being crammed down the nation's throat under some artificial deadline.

I served in the U.S. House with a majority of the current 435 representatives, and I am confident that if given the proper amount of legislative review, they will not accept the flawed Pelosi plan that is currently stuck in committee. Yet there is general agreement among Republicans and Democrats that we need health-care reform to bring costs down. This agreement can be the basis of a genuine, bipartisan reform, once the current over-reach by Mr.Obama and Mrs.Pelosi fails. Leaders of both parties can then come together behind health-care reform that stresses these seven principles:

Wrong rhetoric again, Mr President.

I didn't watch the press conference last night. He's had so many that I've really been "Baracked" out and can't take it anymore. Now that we know that he plants questions at the end from certain reporters it kind of ruins the possibility for spontaneity.

But all over the papers and all over the radio was the President telling us that the racially motivated and "stupid" police of Cambridge, Massachusetts have proven that racism is still alive. This was in response to the story of Louis Gates, Harvard professor of African American studies, who allegedly was treated in a racially motivated fashion when he was arrested at his home.

The story suggests that Mr Gates was unable to enter his home through his front door. He and his driver, also an African American male tried to force entry by trying to "shoulder" the door open. A neighbor called the police concerned that a breaking and entering might be in progress. When the police arrived Gates had made entry through the back door. The police confronted Mr Gates at the entry of his house. They asked for identification, Gates apparently first refused but then acquiesed and gave a Harvard ID. Even in Gates' own accounts he never said there was racial verbiage used by the policemen, or that they touched him or used threatening or demeaning tones.

The police began to leave when Gates began shouting "this is how black men are treated in America" and something about racism and "your Mama". The policemen returned to the porch of the home and arrested and cuffed Mr. Gates.

The policemen seemed to have acted exactly according to procedure and it was Mr Gates who could have kept this incident as nothing more than police checking in on a possible break-in. They were trying to protect Mr Gates' home. How the president decided that the police are "stupid" and racist out of the reports I've heard are curious.

He should have said, "I'm not aware of all the facts of the case, let me get back to you." Instead he took a cheap, race-baiting shot at the police. Not what I expect out of the office of the President.

A Shining Light Ever Dimming

Frankly we might as well call it what it is. Eisenhowerian isolationism. We stick our nose in No One's business (save Afghanistan where we're increasing our military might daily) under Obama.

It's peace, love, and let's make sure everyone in our country has a right to Waygu beef.

Ben Shapiro at Townhall.com explains our quickly waning interest in human rights wrongs.

Somewhere in the dark unknown blotch that is North Korea, there is a young man bent beneath a heavy burden. He is dozens of pounds underweight, fed on corn and salt, hunched over at the waist. His teeth are turning black, and several have already fallen out. He suffers from diarrhea and fever.
Every so often, he watches as the camp guards shoot disobedient prisoners in the head.Sometimes, he watches as camp doctors lead young pregnant women into a room here they perform forced abortions. The young man will die before he hits 50;he'll be lucky to make it to 40. He will die in chains, as his fathers and grandfathers did before him; according to a Korean Bar Association report released this week, hundreds of thousands have suffered the same fate.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton calls his government "unruly."

Jim DeMint. Idiot.

Two points Mr. DeMint.

1. It's not and should never be personal.  If you disagree with Obama's policies fine.  Attack the policies, not the man.  "Breaking" Obama and sending him to his "Waterloo" demonstrates that you think this is personal, it's not.  If it is for you, you have no right to represent ANYONE in our government.

2. By making it personal you have provided the Democrats with ammunition that bears witness to the belief that disagreeing with Obama is only for mean-spirited people.  It is of course unfair to paint all those who oppose many of Obama's policies/methods as taking part in the "politics of personal attack".  But your comment, both awful and stupid will help strengthen that perception and will be used by every member of the Obama media drool brigade for months.

.

Get off the Surgeon General's Back(side)

If you have a problem with Dr Regina Benjamin's stance on abortion or any other policy issues, fine, take a swipe at her.  But don't you dare pick  on her for her weight.

The only other Surgeon General I can even remember was C. Everett Koop and he looked like he was carrying a 50 lb. flour sack under his shirt.  Believe me he's taken down a number of Super Size meals at McDonalds in his lifetime.

There's no reason Dr Benjamin should be held to any higher standard than the Koopster.

And she's done some very good things in her lifetime to help others that she didn't have to do.  Obama seems to have picked a fine candidate for this job.

Take a pill and shut up.

ObamaCare has solutions to every healthcare problem. Take a pain pill, it's cheaper.

Your new President of the United States. Wow.

Monday, July 20, 2009

What's the rush on the healthcare legislation? Ohhhh...

Mid July is when an update of projected fiscal year budget numbers are ALWAYS released by the White House.  But not in this "transparent" administration.

from rightpundit.com

The White House projected revenues for 2012 are forecast at $3.1 trillion. But if growth is just 2 percent, rather than around 4 percent, as some economists now expect, that income would hover around $2.4 trillion — adding another $700 billion to the projected deficit of $581 billion.

White House putting off release of budget update

The administration’s annual midsummer budget update is sure to show higher deficits and unemployment and slower growth than projected in President Barack Obama’s budget in February and update in May, and that could complicate his efforts to get his signature health care and global-warming proposals through Congress.

The release of the update - usually scheduled for mid-July - has been put off until the middle of next month, giving rise to speculation the White House is delaying the bad news at least until Congress leaves town on its August 7 summer recess.

This means ram that Health Care bill through NOW before the public realizes we're up to our derrieres in debt and the Obamaconomy has been an utter disaster.

Senator Boxer plays the race card...and gets her A$$ kicked.

Hard lefty white liberals play the race card all the time. Somehow we're supposed to believe they know better than black people how black people really feel.
The sympathetic, I know your pain, usually works except in this case where a proud man, a businessman, can no longer take it.

How can I go have a beer with this guy?

The comments are as valuable as the video clip.
.

Charlie Rangel, flying under the media radar.

Congressman Rangel has been under ethics investigations for a year or more. In the past year he spent $978,000 on lawyers. How does a guy who makes $174,000 a year in salary do that?

Just askin'

Haven't seen much about this on CBS, NBC, ABC and the major newspapers. Have you? I did hear alot about that "wacky" Republican Governor from Alaska and the philandering Republican Governor from South Carolina though.

Oh, and the Senate's newest solon, comic Democrat Al Franken, has kept us all in stitches with his wit at the Sotomayor hearings.

Beware the Newest Smokescreen

Obama's favorability numbers are plummeting. His Euro/Afro tour is not getting all the sustained press fawning that the the great Apology and Appeasement Tour '09 received that came earlier.
Health care proposals are being scrutinized by both parties and some pragmatists recognize that Cap and Tax would be a disaster based on a lie (anthropogenic global warming).

What's a Messiah to do?

Bring in the AG to.....Indict the Bush Administration! For something. Anything.

This will serve to keep the press busy for the rest of the summer (we already know how this press loves a good Bush bashing story) and Obama can appear as though he doesn't really think this is appropriate. Wag the dog!

Incidentally Obama is now saying that he never said that the stimulus would help immediately, he said it would take two years. Remember? Me neither.

He gave a different view when he was shilling the plan at Caterpillar Corporation, and he got caught.

We don't need no steenking signing statements!

Alex Beam, clever as hell writer for the Boston Globe, points out in his new hideout - the G section of the Globe:

Remember signing statements? Those were the dastardly little postscripts George Bush attached to legislation that he didn’t completely approve of. Signing statements ignore the “fundamental principle’’ of the separation of powers, the American Bar Association huffed. On the campaign trail, candidate Obama was asked, “Do you promise not to use presidential [signing statements] to get your way?’’ “Yes,’’ he answered. “I taught the Constitution for 10 years, I believe in the Constitution, and I will obey the Constitution of the United States. We are not going to use signing statements as a way of doing an end run around Congress.’’

That was easy!

Less easy is explaining away his six signing statements so far, an impressive one-a-month clip. “Signing statements serve a legitimate function in our system,’’ Obama now says, “at least when based on well-founded constitutional objections.’’

It's all about lying to the voters on the campaign trail but being so adored that when you do "it's just so cute!".

Stimulus for All! (if you voted for Obama)

From USA Today:

"Counties that supported Obama last year have reaped twice as much money per person from the administration's $787 billion economic stimulus package as those that voted for his Republican rival, Sen. John McCain, a USA TODAY analysis of government disclosure and accounting records shows. That money includes aid to repair military bases, improve public housing and help students pay for college.

The reports show the 872 counties that supported Obama received about $69 per person, on average. The 2,234 that supported McCain received about $34."

Between buying votes with Stimulus money and getting ACORN to continue to cheat the voter registration system- how can Obama lose in 2012?

No wonder Obama supporters could care less about the graph above....
or this little ripper
.

"Predicting is hard, especially of the future."

Famous malapropist Yogi Berra said that. Princeton physicist William Happer agrees. There are mountains and mountains of evidence against global warming faux-science and hundreds (now over 800 scientists) begging for attention to explain how goofy this wave of insanity is.

Happer cited an ice age at the time of the American Revolution, when Londoners skated on the Thames, and warm periods during the Middle Ages, when settlers were able to farm southern portions of Greenland, as evidence of naturally occurring fluctuations that undermine the case for anthropogenic influence.“[Atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration] was exactly the same then. It didn’t change at all,” he explained. “So there was something that was making the
earth warm and cool that modelers still don’t really understand.”
The problem does not in fact exist, he said, and society should not sacrifice for nothing.
“[Climate change theory has] been extremely bad for science. It’s
going to give science a really bad name in the future,” he said. “I think
science is one of the great triumphs of humankind, and I hate to see it dragged through the mud in an episode like this.”

No one is presenting this information. We have been indoctrinated to believe this crap. It is a media blackout that I simply can't understand. My kids think I'm nuts, they won't read all the information. They are walking in lockstep with the Al Gore minions.
.

We all want cleaner air, locally produced energy etc. but this insanity about CO2 has got to stop.

Stop. Put the kool aid down!

The Press Developing A Backbone?

You can bet that Baghdad Bobby Gibbs will let Chip know in a little one-on-one that he had better not be so free and open with his questioning. The smarm from Gibbs is wearing thin..

The First Whiffs of a Middle Class Tax Increase

Robert Gibbs at yesterday's press briefing.

Q That may be true, but the President on the campaign said that -- he made a flat pledge that he would not raise taxes on anybody making under $250,000. So is that pledge still operable?

MR. GIBBS: Well, again, I think in some ways your question is hypothetical because there are any number of different bills, different proposals. I think the President has outlined what he believes is the very best way to pay for health care.

Q It doesn't have to be hypothetical. He made a pledge --

MR. GIBBS: I understand.

Q -- he said, I am not going to raise taxes on anyone making under $250,000. Is that pledge still active?

MR. GIBBS: We are going to let the process work its way through.

Q So it's not.

Q So it's not.

Q So it's not. (Laughter.)

MR. GIBBS: We're going to let the process work its way through. All right?

You have that awfully perplexed look on your face, Mr. Garrett.

Q Well, what would be the reason for reversing among the most conspicuous, if not the most conspicuous, campaign promise that this candidate Obama repeated everywhere across the country?

MR. GIBBS: Well, I appreciate the indulgence to get into these hypothetical questions months before we're likely to do that. It is rich to watch the fact that we're making so little progress on health care reform that you've asked me if the President is going to sign the bill that's not at his desk. Let's --

Q We didn't ask you about signing the bill --

MR. GIBBS: No, no --

Q And there's nothing hypothetical about reaffirming a campaign promise.

MR. GIBBS: It is in the sense that we're not facing any sort of decision on this. We're letting Congress work many of these issues through. And we're making progress.

Q But, historically, administrations that make such conspicuous promises tell Congress, you can do this, this, and this, but don't go there because it's not something we're going to do.

MR. GIBBS: And I think the President in his principles and in the $948 billion to finance health care reform has laid out pretty clearly what his financing mechanism would be. Which --

Q Then why not take the opportunity provided by Ed to reassure the American public that the campaign promise still stands?

MR. GIBBS: -- any increase in revenue would affect top wage-earners' charitable deductions, returning them to the rates of the Regan administration.

Yes, ma'am.

"Yes ma'am" means he moved on to another question.

Anti-Global Warming Bombshell

Read this entry at Powerlineblog and understand why everything that Obama and the democrats propose is rammed through before the public can understand what the hell is going on.

Obama's not going to let a little thing like facts get in the way of the climate bill steamroller. Read the whole story.

“The time for such discussion of fundamental issues has passed for
this round. The administrator and the administration has decided to move forward on endangerment, and your comments do not help the legal or policy case for this decision.
…. I can only see one impact of your comments given where we
are in the process, and that would be a very negative impact on our office.”

The two embedded emails are particularly revealing.

Global warming is a hoax perpetrated by the Obama administration and any science revealing such is silenced like a Russian peasant in a Siberian gulag.

Please read it. It won't be in the Sunday papers I guarantee that.

Incidentally, the world (outside of the phony IPCC idiots) has decided it's time to give credence to the mounting overwhelming evidence against anthropogenic global warming.

via WSJ.com

700 scientists who disagree with the U.N. -- 13 times the number who authored the U.N.'s 2007 climate summary for policymakers. Joanne Simpson, the world's first woman to receive a Ph.D. in meteorology, expressed relief upon her retirement last year that she was finally free to speak "frankly" of hernonbelief. Dr. Kiminori Itoh, a Japanese environmental physical chemist who contributed to a U.N. climate report, dubs man-made warming "the worst scientific scandal in history." Norway's Ivar Giaever, Nobel Prize winner forphysics, decries it as the "new religion." A group of 54 noted physicists, led by Princeton's Will Happer, is demanding the American Physical Society revise its position that the science is settled. (Both Nature and Science magazines have refused to run the physicists' open letter.)

Hey, I thought Obama was our "global president".

Sorry, he's behind the curve again.

First they came for the professors

The left is having a bit of trouble in our country justifying its support for their beloved Barack as they watch him play a "hands off" role in the election fraud and totalitarian violence against protesters in Iran. A large part of that left is academia. Perhaps now our Emperor's lack of clothing on this issue can be pointed out.

Appointment Media, the Hopey Changey Way

Is the media in bed with the President? Is it possible that the President is directing his press conferences by asking certain reporters to ask certain questions at a certain time?

No way!

Yes way.

In what appeared to be a coordinated exchange, President Obama called on the Huffington Post's Nico Pitney near the start of his press conference and requested a question directly about Iran.
“Nico, I know you and all across the Internet, we've been seeing a lot of reports coming out of Iran,” Obama said, addressing Pitney. “I know there may actually be questions from people in Iran who are communicating through the Internet. Do you have a question?”

Pitney, as if ignoring what Obama had just said, said: “I wanted to use this opportunity to ask you a question directly from an Iranian.”

Jourtegrity lost, again.

Someone needs to grow a set.

Our President has said nothing about the obvious election fraud in Iran. He has not supported the dissidents and has only mildly chided the Iranian government for its violence against the protesters. Obama has stated that he has remained effectively silent so as not to become "the foil" of the Iranians. What?

People seeking freedom and justice need to know they are not alone. They need to know that the greatest democracy on planet earth is behind them 100%. Anything less is cowardice and appeasement. We know what appeasement does in situations like this.
It emboldens tyrants.

Obama loves to quote Martin Luther King. Try this one on for size President Obama.

"We will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends"

Bush's No Child Left Behind a Big Success

This startling report came out this week and bears out that the No Child Left Behind act, a big part of President Bush's domestic legacy, is a tremendous success. Had you listened only to democrat presidential candidates and our DNC talking points main stream media you would have been convinced that the NCLB act was a demonic bill foisted upon us by "the worst president ever"

Sorry.

The 50-state analysis found that test scores for both "advanced" and "basic" students rose in nearly three-quarters of assessments studied across states and grade levels, a level of progress only slightly lower than that of students reaching proficiency.

I missed this story in the main stream media this week. However, had the data been the opposite you can bet it would have been trumpeted everywhere.

NBC is happy to make up facts to protect Obama

On the NBC evening news tonight an opportunity arose to jab former President George Bush. The ever-smarmy Brian Williams stated: "Former President Bush attacked the Obama administration for the first time today. He claimed the "economy will rebound through the private sector". (nasty stuff) However, Bush's critics were quick to remind Bush that he signed the 787 Billion dollar financial bailout bill into law."

Sorry Brian, the 787 Billion dollar stimulus bill was signed into law by it's creator Barack Obama on Feb 13th, 34 days after President Bush left office. The financial bailout was $350 billion, the second $350 billion was requested by President elect Obama and signed as a favor to an incoming president in January. Count 'em both if you like, but it still is $87 billion short of your massive "gotcha" report.

No retraction of this egregious error of fact by the end of the program. It will probably never be corrected. Who cares? The state run media says what it wants and we are supposed to believe it!

Accuracy is so unnecessary when it's the job of the media to crush George Bush and bolster Teh One.
.

Every Day a Laugh Riot

Perhaps you're a little concerned that ABC News will be broadcasting a Pro-Obama healthcare PrimeTime special next week shilling the President's highly flawed healthcare plan...from the White House.

Perhaps you're a little concerned that NBC news special assignment reporter Tom Brokaw interviewed Obama on June 5th and was appointed yesterday to an official Government position.

Perhaps you're a little concerned that the main stream media (including the two networks listed above) are not interested in the violation of law by President Obama reccently when he fired an Inspector General with no just cause and without 30 day notice.

Perhaps you're concerned that sweeping nanny government changes have been introduced and in some cases enacted by Obama that will create an inflationary response unseen in our history, without media or public scrutiny.

The perhapses could go on forever as the 3 chimp media - see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil of Obama have totally caved and gone from watchdog to lapdog.

The media is more concerned with Obama swatting a fly, Michelle harvesting a head of lettuce and if the President likes mustard on his burgers than the immensely important issues of the day both domestic and foreign.

If this lack of seriousness and inquisitiveness in the 4th estate concerns you the following will only make your blood boil more.

The daily press briefing from the White House with Robert Gibbs at the helm is the closest thing we have to a daily governmental frat party. Everything is inside jokes and frat boy ridicule. Not a single fact or insight comes from Gibbs and the lapdogs are all in on the joke

Q I understand that the President doesn’t want to look like he's meddling in the Iranian elections, but at what point does the President's position that he is willing to speak with the Ahmadinejad government bolster the Ahmadinejad regime?
And is there a time when he would suspend that offer as the election results go through a contestation?
Q Is that a word?
MR. GIBBS: I'm almost sure
that it's not. (Laughter.) But leaving that aside for one moment --
Q It's a print guy that made up -- (laughter.)
MR. GIBBS: I don't know, let me say,
if that's -- I'm going to do my crossword puzzle tonight; I don't know if that's
-- look, I would say this, Jonathan. The concerns that we have about Iran are no different than we had last Thursday or last Friday. Our primary concerns are obviously the state sponsorship and the spread of terror, and their efforts to secure a nuclear weapon. Those interests -- our interests are no different today than they were before the election. The President remains committed to strong action and principled diplomacy to address our national interests; that our interest haven't changed regardless of ultimately who the Iranians pick.

No facts, no answers, just fun.

Illinois Stimulus Pork - The Chicago Way

Obama declared "no pork money in the stimulus (787 billion dollar) bill." That is, unless it goes to his pals Dick Durbin, Senator of Illinois and pals of his chief of staff Rahm Emmanuel, former congressman from Illinois.

One billion dollars of pork, straight from Obama to spread among Illinois politicians and supporters.

As you look closer and closer at the Obama administration don't you feel like taking a shower?

ABC: the All Barack Channel

ABC, the All Barack Channel, is broadcasting a totally one-sided prime time infomercial from INSIDE THE WHITE HOUSE next week. It will spend an hour and a half selling Barack's new and improved health care plan.

No dissenters allowed. The Republican party is disinvited.

If you need any more evidence that we now have state-controlled media you need to look no farther on the issue. Chavez, Ahmadinejad, Kim Jong-Il, Castro and Obama - control the media - control the people.

WTF is happening in this country?

Monday, June 15, 2009

Whither Obama?

Friday was the last time we heard from Obama regarding the Iranian elections. He praised the "vigorous debate" of ideas before the election. Except that state-run Iranian television and state-sponsored newspapers never provided a forum for debate. Only a forum for Ahmadinejad.

Now we are aware that the election was stolen by the incumbent and his gestapo forces. Hundreds of thousands of voters were cheated and are being beaten and killed in the streets of Tehran because they believed in a democratic vote. It is a gross injustice.

And now Ahmadinejad talks of "purifying" the country. He has jammed BBC broadcasts and shut down Al Aribaya television. Fascism is on the march and there will be blood.

The President of the most powerful democratic country on earth should be outraged and should be saying so. Loudly and forcefully.

Instead Obama remains silent. Right now his silence represents support. For tyranny.

UPDATE:
President Obama said last night, AFTER the mullahs agreed to recount some votes, that he is "deeply troubled" by the violence. He did not mention who was to blame the government or the protesters. Weak, yet perfectly in accordance with Obama's Apology and Appeasement '09 tour of the MidEast last month.
.

The Chicago Way, Re: Inspector Generals

So you're an Inspector General and you decide to look into how Americorps is spending government money and you find corruption. Unfortunately for you you've overstepped your bounds, because the corruptor happens to be a big Obama supporter and friend. And since you haven't backed off as requested - you're fired!

How many days would this be a front page story at the NY Times during the Bush years? CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC would lead with this for about a week. Main stream media today? Crickets.

And our "transparent" Obama administration continues to break the law when it comes to letting the public know what's going on behind the curtain.

Here's a quote from a piece of legislation - now law - that Obama signed. Hat tip Michelle Malkin.

“If an Inspector General is removed from office or is transferred to
another position or location within an establishment, the President shall communicate in writing the reasons for any such removal or transfer to both Houses of Congress, not later than 30 days before the removal or transfer.”

I don't mind that Obama has new ideas about certain things...but let's not kid ourselves, he is a self-serving politician of the highest order.

They'll Love Us Around the World!

Internationally it's fair to say that people think Obama is handsome, his wife is beautiful, and his two children are cute. Lots of paparrazzi hanging around. But most people seem to realize that beauty and teleprompter glibness are skin deep.

Just 29 percent of Iranians said they have favorable views of the United States in the latest poll, which was conducted last month. In a similar survey in February 2008 — nearly a year before Barack Obama became president — 34 percent had positive opinions about the U.S.

Who knew George Bush was such a popular guy?

Hope and Change Ambassadorships in the New America

If you gave enough money or raised enough money for the Obama or Biden campaigns you got yourself in line for an Ambassadorship to a cool country like Belgium. People without enough money to give to Obama? Forget it. No Ambassadorship for you.

President Barack Obama on Thursday tapped four big Democratic Party donors for plum ambassadorships in Europe and Latin America while naming six career diplomats to posts in Africa, the Mideast and the Pacific.

Everything Obama has done; surround himself with lobbyists, rammed through legislation with no time for voters to see it, giving away jobs (Ambassadorships in this case)to people of money and influence smacks of old Beltway Washington. This is your change agent folks "bringing government back to voters". Uh, huh.

Letterman a chauvinist? Move on, nothing to see here.

Double standards abound in feminists' circles. If you can be somehow classified as a liberal or at least a Democrat, anything goes. Clinton was beloved by feminists even after it was proven that the guy is clearly a misogynist borne out by his abuse of women. A peep from feminists? Nope. Barack Obama routinely refers to female reporters as "sweetie" and "darlin'". Crickets.

And David Letterman whom I used to like until a few years ago when it became apparent that all his humor is politically one-sided, pointed out Monday night Sarah Palin's "slutty flight attendant look" and predicted a Yankee baseball player would enter the stands to rape Palin's 14 year old daughter. Feminists? Anything? Feminists?

The credibility of the movement suffers when you can only be a chauvinist if your beliefs run counter to democrat talking points. Hypocrisy - the mother's milk of liberalism.

It's everywhere.

In the grand world of Obama PR remember that accuracy is so passe

The White House wants us to know how well their administration is working. They've released a pamphlet "100 Days, 100 Projects".

It outlines what a marvelous job they've already done in bringing us a New America...

Jake Tapper, the only reporter with courage enough to confront Press Secretary Gibbs on his daily spew of smarm and glossovers, decided to look at just the very first of the 100 projects.

Q All right. So to follow up, I looked at your "100 days, 100 projects" booklet yesterday and the very first one says, "Using $27 million of Recovery Act funding, a public housing development in D.C., the Regency House, has undergone a green retrofit. As part of this upgrade, the building installed solar panels, a 'green' roof, a rainwater collection system, energy-efficient lighting, as well as water-conserving toilets, showerheads and faucets."

But when I called the D.C. Housing Authority, they said only $59,000 was spent of stimulus money, not $27 million, and of the seven things mentioned, only two of the seven were actually --

MR. GIBBS: I think the mistake in that one as you blogged about earlier took a series of different projects in a cut and paste into one.

Q Okay, so it wasn't as clear -- it wasn't as accurate as it could have been?

MR. GIBBS: I think that's accurate to say, yes.

That was the very first project! How accurate are the rest? One would hope the accuracy rate would be better than 600 to 1.

With apologies to Glenn Reynolds (An Army of Davids)we need an Army of Jake Tappers to begin to restore some sense of jourtegrity.

Robert Gibbs issues gag order to public

I'm pretty tired of this guy. He's condescending, arrogant, clueless and wants to end free speech in America.

"I think it is probably important for anybody involved in this debate to be exceedingly careful with the way in which they've decided to describe different aspects of this impending confirmation," Gibbs said.

Or we're gonna get ya'. After all, Obama has said "Don't think I'm not keeping score."

Obama makes a good choice for the Supreme Court

It's time that the high court had another woman and its first Hispanic. She is principled, comes from a working class background and will vote essentially the same as Souter. Nice pick, President Obama. Republicans, shut up on this one.

Memorial Day

I'm only asking for 5 minutes and 23 seconds of your time.

Obama: Move on, nothing to see here.

One might have guessed from Obama's Apology and Appeasement Tour '09 that our new administration is taking the 3 Chimps approach to foreign affairs. Even the Washington Post is taking note of Obama's lack of concern as book buddy, Hugo Chavez, decimates what was left of democracy in Venezuela:

Mr. Chávez is following a path well worn by the likes of Juan Perón and Alberto Fujimori -- not to mention his mentor, Fidel Castro. But this may be the first time that the United States has watched the systematic destruction of a Latin American democracy in silence. As Mr. Chávez has implemented the "third phase" of his self-styled revolution, the Obama administration has persisted with the policy of quiet engagement that the president promised before taking office

Whoa, "quiet engagement" seems to be more on the quiet and less on the engagement part.

With North Korea's nuke test, Iran's missile test and warship saber rattling all this weekend we can expect more "look the other way, we got a nanny state we're busy creatin' here" attitude from the One.

We were promised a "new America" and we're definitely getting it.

A Hint at How the Media Will Spin the Cheney and Obama Terror Speeches

At Politico.com a supposed "neutral" blog about politics comes a 17 paragraph story on the two speeches about our security approaches past and future. The simple numbers: 2 paragraphs about what Cheney will say - 13 paragraphs about what Obama will say.

Got it? It fairly represents the ratio of media who promote the Obama administration's tactics versus those who elect to question them. About a 6 to 1 ratio from the media. The election past indicated about a 1.3 to 1 ratio in the general voting populace. Seems fair to me.

Pass the kool-aid and where's my stimulus check?

Now that the Palin Wardrobe Investigation is Finally Over...

and of course, no improprieties were found.

Maybe the FEC (and the media) can turn their attention on a couple of seemingly more important election fraud issues.

1. It is estimated that the Obama campaign received over 100 million of its record breaking donations from overseas donors. Even 1 penny of foreign donations is illegal by Federal Election Laws. Now that they have stopped getting excited over Palin's lacy underwear maybe they have time to look into this?

2. ACORN. Thirteen lawsuits of voter registration fraud and the recent unearthing of the New York Times burying a story of how the Obama administration had constant contact with ACORN during the election. This is also a direct violation of Federal Election Laws.

There are others, many others, but let's start with the two above. Put away the highly scrutinized digital photos of Sarah Palin's handbags to see if they might be designer brands and do your jobs!

All the News That's Fit to Steal

Did Maureen Dowd of the New York Times plagiarize? You decide.

from Talking Points Memo

"More and more the timeline is raising the question of why, if the torture was to prevent terrorist attacks, it seemed to happen mainly during the period when we were looking for what was essentially political information to justify the invasion of Iraq."

from Maureen Dowd

"More and more the timeline is raising the question of why, if the torture was to prevent terrorist attacks, it seemed to happen mainly during the period when the Bush crowd was looking for what was essentially political information to justify the invasion of Iraq."

My guess, of course, is plagiarism.

The difference is TPM used "we" and Dowd used "the Bush crowd" otherwise - verbatim ripoff.

Maureen was only doing what all good Bush bashers do - substitute the word "Bush" for any other word in a negative comment and NYT readership goes up 60%.

How the New York Times Killed a "Game Changer" Election Story

John Hinderaker over at PowerlineBlog.com writes this morning about a story some of us remember last fall that should have been a major voter fraud story implicating the Obama campaign and ACORN.

On Sept. 7, Moncrief wrote to Strom that she had donor lists from the campaigns of Obama and Hillary Clinton and that there had been "constant contact" between the campaigns and Project Vote, an Acorn affiliate whose tax-exempt status forbids it to engage in partisan politics. Moncrief said she had withheld that information earlier but was disclosing it now that the conservative columnist Michelle Malkin was "all over it."

"I am sorry," she wrote, "but I believe in Obama and did not want to help the Republicans."

This story should have been of the magnitude of Swift Boat or Rathergate but thanks to NY Times editors it got the "move on, nothing to see here" treatment.

Hinderaker does a fabulous job of delineating how the NY Times has managed to cover up their own dishonesty and complicity with a simple turn of a phrase by their ombudsman.

If Palin was President and Acted Like Obama

Victor Davis Hansen is spot on here.

“What we’re getting is Wasilla chic. That’s what we’re getting. She arrives in the Oval Office, and first thing sends back Blair’s gift of the Churchill bust as if it’s a once-worn Penney’s outfit. Then she gives the Brits some unwatchable DVDs as a booby prize — as if she idled the old Yukon and ran into Target’s sale aisle. Did Sarah send Bristol into Wal-Mart back in Anchorage for that ‘engraved’ iPod for the queen? And what’s this don’t-bow-to-the-queen stuff, but curtsy for a Saudi sheik? Maybe that explains why she brags to Stephanopoulos about her ‘Muslim faith.’ So far, the best things going for herare Todd’s biceps.”

Read the whole thing. It's a riot.

Chavez to Ax Last Remaining Opposing TV Station

The socialist's view of Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez can be seen in the very biased documentary "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised". It paints Chavez as a benevolent dictator who wants to bring his country's people out of poverty. The documentary title seems ironically accurate today.

Globovision is the remaining counterweight to state television, which airs only praise for Chavez while attacking opposition politicians on a late-night talk show called "The Razorblade."

Chavez is trying to shut the last free-speech TV station down.

US Rep William Delahunt and Joe Kennedy, both of Massachusetts - Chavez' most ardent fans in the US, always seem to overlook this major flaw in the bully's character. They were chortling sycophants of Chavez when he spent most of his time insulting and belittleing President Bush on the international stage. Great fun.

Let's see if they, or Hugo's book buddy in the White House, have anything to say about free speech.

Expect crickets.

Which Republican Said This?

via bloomberg.com

“We can’t keep on just borrowing from China,” He said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. “We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.”

Holders of U.S. debt will eventually “get tired” of buying it, causing interest rates on everything from auto loans to home mortgages to increase, He said. “It will have a dampening effect on our economy.”

Somebody had fun with Obama's teleprompter I guess.

After saying this Obama went on to talk about the need for more increased entitlement spending.

Clothes. Emperor. Not wearing any.

I Remember Thinking This Guy was a Fake

Rick Duncan, anti-war Iraq veteran. Rick Duncan, survivor of the attack on the Pentagon. Rick Duncan, just another in a long list of lefty imposter liars eventually unveiled.

via Michelle Malkin

The leader of a statewide veterans group who fought for homeless veterans in Colorado Springs was in the Denver County jail on Wednesday, unmasked as a former psychiatric patient who posed as a wounded Marine officer and 9/11
survivor.
Federal authorities are looking into whether Rick Duncan, whose real name is Richard Glen Strandlof, could have pilfered money he raised in the name of Colorado veterans, said Daniel Warvi of the Colorado Veterans Alliance (CVA), the group that Duncan founded.

The media (because it fits the agenda) somehow never questioned this guy's background during the last election when he was dragging down our efforts in Iraq.

Kinda wish you could release this guy into a tent full of grunts on a US military base in Iraq for a little "pillow party".

Read the whole thing and watch the videos at Malkin's blog. You'll find yourself a little upset.

Solving the Economy. Simply and Quickly.

I read a version of this in a comments section of a blog so I don't claim originality. However, I've modified the plan a fair amount and have added a bit of factual backup.

Sixty percent of workers over 60 are delaying their retirement. In fact, almost half of new jobs in recent years were claimed by this workforce. Let's give them an opportunity to fix the economy by letting them retire early. In fact, let's aim at the folks over 55 who make up 900,000 of the job force.

The government will offer them this deal: Here is a 1 million dollar check for you. But, you must quit your job and not seek a new job for at least two years. And with your 1 million dollars you must buy a new American built car getting over 30 miles to the gallon and trash your old one unless it's getting over 30 mpg already in which case you give it to someone in need. And you must buy a two year membership in a health club.

Nearly 1 million new jobs immediately. Unemployment rate drops to 6 percent!

Nearly 1 million new cars sold immediately. Auto industry saved. Unemployment drops to 5 percent!

Long term pollution and energy problems on their way to being solved.

Long term healthcare problem drastically improved as more fit populace stay away from hospitals.

And the cost? 1 million times 1 million = 1 trillion dollars

This will pay for itself as corporate taxes feed back into the system with healthier profits and therefore bigger corporate tax returns.

Oh, and no bailouts to anyone; banks, financial institutions and so on. Let the chips fall where they may.

This also eliminates all of the pork barrel spending by the Congress doling out the 4 trillion that was proposed for the stimulus/bailout that is predicted to cost more like 10 trillion over 10 years.

Pretty easy. Let's do it. Everything fixed in 90 days!

And remember, this is a government offer, it is not mandated. If we don't get enough takers we move down to 54 year olds.

Time to Sniff the Air When a Politician Exclaims "And I Repeat..."

It's a sure sign they're lying. Think Nancy Pelosi now, Bill Clinton during MonicaGate.

Nancy's indignance belies the truth. She claims that she was never told that any of these enhanced interrogation procedures - otherwise known as "torture" to lefties, that were described to her in great detail were actually used on anyone.

She made sure we dunderheads knew it was true when she exclaimed "and I repeat....."

Last week the CIA released a report basically calling her a liar, and today her aide confirmed that she indeed had been briefed about Abu Zubaydah's waterboarding in 2003. Saying she knew nothing about it allowed her to excoriate the Bush Administration and to justify releasing memos about enhanced interrogation techniques that have weakened the US intelligence efforts and will cost American military lives.

Where is the goddamned media on this? Where is the goddamned media on Murtha's corruption? Where is the goddamned media on Auntie Zeituni? Where is the goddamned media on the Chrysler bankruptcy gestapo? Where is the goddamned media on Chris Dodd's illegal mortgages, Charlie Rangel's illegal rent-controlled apartments and on and on.

Where is the goddamned media anyway?

The Obama Administration and Unemployment Projections. Oops

From Geoff at Innocent Bystander we find that the Obama Administration's projections at how unemployment levels would be with and without the Stimulus. Turns out with the trillions things aren't working out too well. We'll never know if the numbers might have actually gotten better without the Stimulus. But then I guess that's just trillions under the bridge so to speak.

Financial Fascism by the Obama Administration

You've heard how the Obama administration is running its Chrysler bankruptcy deals. The UAW, the only unsecured holder of Chrysler debt is going to own 55% of the company and the much larger debt owned by private bondholders is going to be paid at a rate 1/4 of that. Basically, all the rules of bankruptcy litigation are being thrown out so that a Democrat voting bloc gets all the goodies. With of course, the dual insult of letting the inmates run the asylum.

Please take the time to read this succinct and clarifying article by Richard Epstein at Forbes.com. It explains the fascist and quite unAmerican methods that are unfolding in this Chrysler bankruptcy.

Rahm and Obama ain't lettin' this crisis go to waste:

Upsetting this fixed hierarchy among creditors is just an illegal taking of property from one group of creditors for the benefit of another, which should be struck down on both statutory and constitutional grounds.

This Chrysler bankruptcy is telling us all we need to know about the nature of our country's future under Obama. And not enough people in the media are pulling back the curtain.

It Was a Comedic Endeavor. Get over it.

I like Wanda Sykes. She's very funny. She's particularly funny often acting as the indignant black woman on Curb Your Enthusiasm, and it's a great schtick. Yes, it's the first joke about 9/11 that I've heard if you want to talk about the Rush Limbaugh, Oxycontin, 20th terrorist thing. And how could Obama not smile - it was funny. Rush Limbaugh dishes out an awful lot, I'm sure he can take this. He probably laughed himself.

Maybe the jokes appeared a little too true. "You all voted for me" Obama said to the press corps. They laughed and I hope felt a little embarassed by it. Yup the flyover joke might have been a little too close to home as plenty of people including me are still angered by it. But hey, Jon Favreau is edgy, he grabbed a cardboard cut out of Hilary Clinton and squeezed her corrugated boobs for the internet. The man's edgy. Obama trusts this 27 year-old frat boy to be his wit mentor the way we trust our barber to get the area around our ears just right.

Sure, we all think we learned something about Obama Saturday night and we did. Being indignant about it is pointless.

Move on, nothing to see here.

Have you ever seen Press Secretary Gibbs and Baghdad Bob in the same room?

We're supposed to believe that Obama is a budget cutter trying to save the public because he wants to trim 17 billion dollars from next years budget.

If all of the proposed cuts go through (and of course they won't with a Democratically controlled Congress) it would be a cut of 1/2 of 1% on a 4 Trillion dollar budget.

That's on a budget that is an increase of 7.7% from the prior year. The media is going along of course and have suggested Obama is quite the spending cutter. Unfortunately during yesterday's press briefing some nitwit had the gall to point this idiocy out.

Q But he's not cutting $17 billion. He's cutting programs worth $17 billion, but there are more than $17 billion worth of expansion, expanded programs, and new programs. There isn't a $17 billion cut from projected budget cuts.

MR. GIBBS: Well, there's 17 -- I'll go back and look at the transcript. You just said there are not $17 billion in cuts; there's $17 billion in cuts to programs.

Q Right.

Q It's not net.

Q It's not net, right.

Q Not net.

So McCain's proposed 18 billion dollar cuts in earmarks were laughably small to Obama during the campaign because of the minor impact they would have on a 1/2 Trillion dollar deficit. But 17 billion in cuts is meaningfull against a budget of 4Trillion and a deficit approaching 12 Trillion.

I didn't catch this part on the network news last night, did you?

Nancy Pelosi - was for it before she was against it

Why do these people not understand that meetings are recorded. Notes are taken etc. The biggest complainers are often the biggest liars. Yup. Nancy lied and they've got the goods on her.

from ABC News.com:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was briefed on the use of “enhanced interrogation techniques” on terrorist suspect Abu Zubaydah in September 2002, according to a report prepared by the Director of National Intelligence’s office and
obtained by ABC News.
At the briefing, Pelosi did not formally register objections to the interrogation techniques authorized by the Bush administration. President Obama has said he considers such techniques to be "torture."

It's laughable, except that it's really not that funny.

Barney Frank - was for it before he was against it.

A predatory lending law came out of a house committee that Barney heads, and he signed it -only he forgot that inserted in the law was a provision stating that - organizations that are in trouble for voter registration fraud can't get any money - like ACORN, the Democrat get-out-the-Democrat-vote-illegally organization that Barney and all good Democrats support.

So Barney decided to change his mind "I didn't read the legislation carefully".

My first thought was that Arlen Specter is going to fit right in with this crowd.
